Swimming Roster Index For The 2022 Short Course World Championships

Around the world, nations are setting and finalizing their rosters for the 2022 FINA Short Course World Championships now that we’re in the final stretch of qualification. We’re keeping track of every roster we can find in this handy index.

We’ll continue updating this index throughout the next coming weeks, adding in rosters as they are set and/or finalized. We’ll do our best to keep up with additional qualifiers and to add in rosters as they become available.

Below, we’ve listed all of the nations that have won medals at the last two editions of the Short Course World Championships, which will serve as a starting point for our world-level index.

As a reminder, both Russia and Belarus are excluded from the 2022 FINA Short Course World Championships, which you can read more bout here.

Will a world record fall?
do you think curzan will win the 50 butterfly, popovici the 100 free and 200, houses the 200 im and that douglass will be able to take the 200 breast from king?

CDaddy has been VERY quiet….I wonder how the transition training is going? Also IF he were to swim a Junior record does it still count since he will still be a junior on December 31?

Junior eligibility is determined by year. Men are juniors for the entire year of their 18th birthday and women are juniors for the entire year of their 17th birthday. So yes it will count.

Will a world record fall? Yes. Aussie women’s aggregate times from trials for the 100 free relay is only 0.2 off the world record. Throw in a second for relay starts and they should comfortably beat it. Unless something goes terribly wrong. There aren’t any other obvious ones that come to mind.

Winners:

50 Fly: 50s are always unpredictable. Curzan is certainly a contender being the only medallist from last year participating. However, MacNeil just swam a 24.75 at a random world cup meet so I think she’ll be up there!

100 Free: Has Popovici ever done anything special in SCM? He’s only 0.2 faster than Chalmers in LCM and Chalmers has way more SCM experience so I wouldn’t be… Read more »

Very good point. I hadn’t considered China because their results for this year aren’t super easy to get. I’ve been getting the info off twitter lol.

Pretty sure that’s where Swimswam get the results too lol. They have two 1:51s so they just need the other two legs to be faster than 1:54 and the WR is theirs.

Schoenmaker is not going to short course Worlds. South Africa has already announced the roster.

They usually wait until a week or two before the meet to do those. But I think it’s a group discussion.

I also hope they do another fantasy draft. Those are really fun to follow.
