Annika came into the sport competitively at age eight, following in the footsteps of her twin sister and older brother. The sibling rivalry was further fueled when all three began focusing on distance freestyle, forcing the family to buy two lap counters.
Annika is a three-time Futures finalist in the 200 LCM fly and she finished 20th in the 7.5k at the 2018 Open Water Junior Nationals while training with Fullerton Aquatics Sports Team (FAST) in Southern California. Her villain origin story is missing the Winter Juniors cut in the 200m fly by .33 at the 2018 Futures meet in Santa Clara.
Annika swam butterfly, distance freestyle, and IM for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. She qualified for the 2023 DIII NCAA Championships with a 2:04.42 200 yard fly which earned her second place at the 2023 SCIAC Championships. It also ranked her 16th in the nation at the time. She completed her collegiate career that season in Greensboro where she swam lifetime best times in the 200 IM, 100 fly, and placed 21st in the 200 fly.
Annika is pursuing her B.S. in Writing and Rhetoric with a Spanish minor at Scripps College. She joined SwimSwam as a reporter in August 2020.
