Annika came into the sport competitively at age eight, following in the footsteps of her twin sister and older brother. The sibling rivalry was further fueled when all three began focusing on distance freestyle, forcing the family to buy two lap counters.
Annika is a three-time Futures finalist in the 200 LCM fly and she finished 20th in the 7.5k at the 2018 Open Water Junior Nationals while training with Fullerton Aquatics Sports Team (FAST) in Southern California. Her villain origin story is missing the Winter Juniors cut in the 200m fly by .33 at the 2018 Futures meet in Santa Clara.
Annika currently swims butterfly, distance freestyle, and IM for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. She is pursuing her B.S. in Writing and Rhetoric with a Spanish minor at Scripps College.
She joined SwimSwam as a reporter in August 2020.
