Distance freestyler Zoey McClaren has committed to continuing her swimming career at Bryant University beginning in the fall of 2027. A Futures qualifier and state champion, McClaren competes for Boulder City High School and trains with the Boulder City Henderson Heatwave club team in Nevada.

McClaren was a two-time champion at the 2026 NIAA 3A State Championships (SCY) in May, winning the 200 free (1:58.76) and 500 free (5:13.47).
McClaren posted lifetime bests in the 50 free (25.45), 100 free (54.86), and 200 free (1:54.13) at the 2026 Kona Senior Spring Invite (SCY) in March. She won the 1650 free (17:22.79).
At the 2026 Speedo Sectionals Oceanside (SCY) in February, McClaren posted lifetime bests in the 500 free (4:58.91), 1000 free (10:17.92), and 1650 free (17:13.19), with all three swims qualifying for the 2026 Futures Championship in Sacramento this summer. She placed 6th in both the 1000 free and 1650 free and finished 18th in the 500 free (5:02.03).

Bryant University’s women claimed the team title at the 2026 America East Championships. Already, McClaren’s lifetime best in the 500 free would have qualified for the ‘A’ final at the conference meet. The Bulldogs’ fastest time last season belonged to senior Katherine Bailey, who posted a 4:52.73 to finish 2nd at the championships.
Leah Walden will join McClaren in Bryant’s 2027 recruiting class. Walden also owns a strong 500 free best of 5:02.91.
