The United States saw success on multiple levels on day three of the FINA Short Course World Championships where the nation topped the podium 5 times.
Although the stars n’ stripes were winless in both the men’s and women’s 100m freestyle events, they came back strong to make it a 1-2 punch in the women’s 200m fly, courtesy of Dakota Luther and Hali Flickinger.
Olympic champion Lilly King did her thing to secure the top spot in the women’s 100m breast while Nic Fink followed suit in the men’s race. Kieran Smith also did damage in the men’s 400m free before the women clinch 4x50m free relay gold.
Day one saw the United States take one gold medal out of the six events, while day two saw the nation reap 3 golds. Tonight was the United States’ best overall performance yet, with their 5 gold medals representing 56% of the possible golds in medal-contending races.
