Todd DeSorbo led the Virginia women to their 7th ACC Conference Championship (and 6th consecutive) since taking over the program this week in Greensboro. With the addition of Cal, Stanford, and SMU to the conference, you could tell there was a different feel to the meet, with DeSorbo likening it to the national championships. Even so, the UVA women still scored 1450+ points, notably winning 4 of the 5 relays and getting NCAA records in 2.
Just give Katie Grimes the full three days off, no weight room and no swimming pool. From Hong Kong to Singapore to Budapest, Katie Grimes has been one busy female athlete since 26 Oct 2024.

I always like listening to Todd’s interviews. He has a ton on energy
The atmosphere at ACCs was crazy, you could feel the crowd. It was my first time there. Never been to an NCAA though so I can’t compare.
Between the ACC women and SEC men, I wonder how many eventual individual ncaa champions next month competed last week. I’d put the total number of events close to 75%.
ACC Women
W 200 FR – nope
W 200 FL – nope (E. Sticklen on a roll)
A. Walsh will win the W 200 BR if she selects the W 200 BR in lieu of the W 200 FL on Day 4 of the 2025 NCAA DI Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
The 500 FR and 1650 FR will come down to the taper of Katie Grimes. Todd DeSorbo better get on the horn with Ron Aitken to figure out which buttons to push.
500 free – nope
1650 – nope
800 relay – probably not
The original poster stated eventual individual NCAA Champions.
As for the women’s 4 x 200 yard freestyle relay, welcome to the great unknown.
It will be interesting who Todd DeSorbo drops to reduce the roster to 18 (assuming it’s 18) for the 2025 NCAA DI Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. Most likely, one female athlete (E. Kaye) will be selected from the University of Virginia women’s diving program.
Coach Todd has many reasons to be happy! Nice job.
Agree Coach Todd has done a long standing wonderful job at UVA with the women. Credit goes also to his assistants and the support team. They are rolling! It is apparent the UVA men are on a positive trajectory as well.
