JOB DESCRIPTION

The selected applicant will be responsible for daily operations of the year-round competitive swim program and report to the Board.

Duties include:

  • Developing the club’s mission and vision.
  • Hire, supervise, educate and mentor all assistant coaches. Ensure all coaches are up to date with certifications.
  • Attend Coastal Committee (Southern California & USA Swimming) meetings on behalf of our program
  • Design and oversee seasonal training for all groups.
  • Coach swimmers. Expected on deck presence 6 days a week for three hours per day.
  • Direct monthly staff meetings.
  • Set workout schedules.
  • Determine workout group for each athlete and update group requirements/progression as needed.
  • Arrange and oversee tryouts for all new swimmers.
  • Be able and willing to work with all ages and levels.
  • Track hours worked by assistant coaches.
  • Maintain roster on TeamUnify.
  • Ensure all swimmers are registered with USA swimming.
  • Order team apparel and equipment.
  • Conduct swimmer appraisals quarterly.
  • Maintain swimmers attendance at workouts.

Meets:

  • Set team meet schedule for all groups and obtain approval from the Board.
  • Staff scheduled meets.
  • Attend meets.
  • Meet entry submission and payment in accordance with meet deadlines.
  • Process monthly billing (through TeamUnify) including meet fees and other miscellaneous charges.
  • Make travel plans and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Act as Meet Coordinator (communicate with host teams/admin and swimmers prior to meets, organize meet recap after).
  • Upload meet results to TeamUnify.

Communication:

  • Establish and maintain regular and timely communication with swimmers, parents, coaches and board members (via TeamUnify).
  • Oversee team website, Instagram and Facebook account.
  • Assist in marketing the swim team and act as media liaison.
  • Provide a monthly program report to Board.
  • Hold periodic parent meetings to educate and inform parents.

Fundraising:

  • Assist and support all fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Head Coach preferred.
  • Prospective employees must be USA-Swimming registered swim coach and able to pass USA-Swimming background check and USA-Swimming Athlete Protection Program.
  • Proficient in TeamUnify.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of athletes, parents, Board and outside personnel.
  • Good team management skills, highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Up-to-date understanding of coaching techniques through research and continuing education.

  • Know how and when to delegate responsibilities to the rest of the coaching staff; so, mission and goals can be achieved.
  • Capacity to create a healthy competitive environment. Promoting team spirit above all and the cohesion of the different groups as a “one team vision”.
  • Promote and emphasize stroke technique in order to achieve a better/faster/happier swimmer.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Swimming Committee, coaching staff and parents through newsletters (weekly), website and social media updates, and email for the purpose of establishing and keeping a clear line of communication for parents/swimmers and all members.

Qualifications and Expectations for the Head Coach Position

 

  • Exceptional qualities of leadership and organization.
  • Bachelor degree (minimum) or higher (Masters preferred, not required) or proven and verifiable stellar coaching accomplishments.
  • Current swimming coaching credentials (background check etc.) in good standing and abide by USA Swimming code of conduct.
  • Compliance with MAAP (Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy) y USA Safe Sport” (https://www.usaswimming.org/docs/default-source/safe-sportdocuments/maapp/usaswimmingmaapp.pdf)
  • ASCA Level 3-4 (preferred) or higher.
  • Preferred 5-10 years of competitive coaching with a swimming member club.
  • Preferred experience of at least 3 years coaching swimmers that have achieved different competitive levels such as “TAGS”, “Jr. Olympics”, “USA Zones”, “Sectionals”, “Futures” or better.
  • Strong integrity, patience and passion for coaching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Spanish proficiency level (at least intermediate).
  • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Team Unify, Team Manager, Meet Manager, On Deck, Meet Mobile and other technology/software platforms that are used to develop swimmers (e.g. underwater stroke analysis).
  • The candidate should demonstrate exceptional qualities in coaching and mentoring young athletes, as well as a passion for coaching.

Club de Regatas Lima (CRL or the club), is one of the biggest sport clubs in America and located in the Chorrillos District, in Lima, Perú. CRL is searching for a Swimming Head Coach, the club has 135 plus swimmers ranging from beginners to national qualifiers and also members of the Peruvian National Team. The CRL trains in its own Olympic size pool – 10 lanes, 50 mts x 25 mts, which is located in the club’s main location (Chorrillos). Job Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform customer surveillance from the guard stand, maintains the safety of the customers in and around the pool and serve as a customer service liaison between patrons and the University.

• First Responder to emergency situations and provide lifesaving, first aid and/or CPR until professional assistance arrives.

• Executes rescues of persons in distress; must be able to recognize and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans.

• Communicate and enforce all Campus Recreation regulations, operations, programs and pool rules in a personable and professional manner with customers. Must be effective in customer service with difficult customer concerns and complaints.

• Perform daily opening and closing procedures for the facility, including basic daily maintenance such as removal of pool covers, cleaning pool deck of debris and trash, storage of pool mats and chairs to proper locations.

• Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the Director and complete all reports as required and needed.

• Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your level of training.

• Comply with industry standards for safety and participation.

• Work as a team with other lifeguards during daily hours, drills, special events and membership/entrance authorization enforcement.

• Provide general level of knowledge of Campus Recreation programs and activities to customers.

• Attendance at all staff meetings, in-service training and special events as scheduled.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized age group coach who will bring wildly contagious ENERGY and FUN to the pool deck—primarily bringing our pre-competitive swimmers into the fold. There will also be an opportunity to work with our older competitive athletes. 

We are a team of 75 athletes. We don’t sit down on our deck. BAT is looking for coaches with hustle and a tendency towards collaboration. Swim coaching is intense and we strive to work smarter, not harder.

Looking for candidates with at least 2-3 years of club experience. Applicants must be available at 3:30 PM for 3-5 nights a week. Part-time position: 15-20 hrs/wk.

Truman State University is currently seeking an Assistant Coach for Men’s & Women’s Swimming. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all phases of the program including recruiting, coaching, and administrative duties. Spokane Wave is a year round competitive USA Swim Team located in Spokane, Washington. SWAT competes in the Inland Empire (IE) LSC and averages 135 swimmers per year.
SWAT is looking for a professional, self-motivated coach with experience developing, recruiting for and maintaining competitive age group programs. Under the direction of the Head Coach the qualified candidate would oversee and be responsible for all aspects of the SWAT age group program.
The position requires on average 15-20 hours of deck time a week, weekend swim meets, and administrative office hours/duties.

The Para-Swimming Club Coach is responsible for the daily operations and development of the community Steadward Bears Para-Swimming Team within The Steadward Centre for Personal & Physical Achievement. The Para-Swimming Club Coach is responsible for direct coaching, season ad practice planning, and attendance at various swim meets and events throughout the season. The Para-Swimming Club Coach is responsible for planning and carrying out fundraising events and initiatives. This position will work collaboratively with Swim Alberta, Varsity Swimming, and community partners to coordinate facility usage, recruit volunteers, and explore joint programming within the Athlete Development for Para-sport program. This position will focus on athletes in the following categories: developing and emerging, junior and national level athletes.
Duties
• Assess, prescribe, deliver and provide swim instruction to individuals living with impairment aged 12 years of age and older
• Prepare swim season and practice plans for para-swimmers in accordance with evidence based and/or NCCP standards where applicable
• Hold recruitment meetings/assessments with new and interested individuals, respond to program inquiries
• Develop resources and training guides for volunteers
• Work in a collaborative training environment with Varsity Swimming, Athlete Development for Para-sport programs, Free2BMe programs and community sport organizations
• Liaise with Aquatics Centre and Campus & Community Recreation to facilitate Centre wide aquatics programs
• Communicate with parents/athletes on upcoming events, athlete progression, and program news
• Ensure swimmers are registered with Swim Alberta and complete all swim meet entries
• Ensure The Steadward Bears Para-swimming team adheres to policies and procedures of Swim Alberta

Qualifications

Santa Clara Swim Club is seeking a full-time Competitive Swimming Director to support the Head Coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the auxiliary programs, general staff management, water scheduling and facility relationships, club communications and home meet coordinator. Responsibilities also include maintenance of the Club’s policies and procedures, and regular reporting of relevant membership information to the Board of Directors and the management team.
