Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, evaluates, and terminates student staff and lifeguards for the aquatics center, including providing certification in lifeguarding; verifies and submits student staff and lifeguard payroll for the aquatics center.

Job Description

Starting from 2014, Blue Legend has more than  800 students in both Sugarland and Katy area. Our proven swim curriculum has been carefully the developed to increase a student ‘ s swim technical skills, encourage a love of Learning, and promote self-esteem. Now Blue Legend Swimming Academy are seeking a part-time/full-time swim coach to work with our group Swim program Consistin G of our Basic, elementary, intermediate, Advanced and Pro program. This is entails working with age group swimmers ages 4-15 years with a wide range of abilities. The assistant swim coach would oversee training activities of assigned group. Instruct groups lessons focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development and drills, etc.

Lessons are from 5:15 pm-8:15 pm in Tue, Wed, Fri and 5:30 pm-8:30 pm on Mon, Thurs, Sat. On Sat and Sun, the group lessons are from 14:00 pm-19:00 pm. Right now, the locations are at Dynamic Fitness of Dairy Ashford Rd and Alt in Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun on Sugarland; Dynamic Fitness at I-10 and Baker Cypress Exit in Mon, Thurs and Sat on Katy. We practice all year except some of the FBISD and Katy ISD holidays.

 

Job Responsibilities

The position is responsible to the safety of the participant in the class. Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time; Remaining after class to answer parent questions as needed, and clean up equipments and supplies. Instructs and evaluate students participating in swim lessons. Coach students in groups, demonstrating proper swimming technique and observing students detect and correct mistake. Submits completed cards, skill sheets on time. Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled. All new team members must complete the training, regardless of experience. Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high stars of the customer emergency. All other duties as assigned and appropriate.

Parkland Aquatic Club (“PAAC”) is a federal tax exempt IRC §501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the greater Lehigh Valley region in eastern Pennsylvania. The Lehigh Valley is a growing area comprised of three cities, Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, forming a metropolitan population of nearly one million people.  In 2015, Fortune Magazine named Allentown as one of five cities with an “up-and-coming” downtown.  The greater Lehigh Valley has various recreational opportunities: a Phillies affiliate AAA baseball team, the Iron Pigs; easy access to hiking, fishing and mountain biking; Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom; State Theatre; Allentown Art Museum; local wineries and craft breweries; and Bear Creek and Blue Mountain Ski Areas. The Lehigh Valley is also home to the Sands Casino and Events Center and the PPL Arena, which houses a Philadelphia Flyers affiliate hockey team, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

PAAC’s mission is to empower young people to be champions in life through excellence in swimming and diving.  PAAC is a USA Swimming Level 3 and Bronze Medal Club.  Since the inception of the Club Excellence program in 2010, PAAC has been Bronze level club five (5) times and Silver level three (3) times.  PAAC is a year round competitive swim team of over 150 athletes, serving swimmers of all abilities from novice to USA Junior National and Olympic Trial Qualifiers.  PAAC has had 7 Olympic Trials qualifiers, 1 National champion, 1 Junior National champion, 4 National Junior Team Members, 2 Junior Pan Pac Team Members, 9 Open Water Nationals/Junior National participants, 25 PIAA Individual State champions, and 32 Scholastic All-Americans.  PAAC is in a solid financial position, with a supportive parent-led Board and volunteer group that is committed to providing for the team and supporting the coaching staff in all areas. The successful candidate will design and administer a total aquatics system that emphasizes the progression of swimmers from our youngest, developmental athletes through our oldest, National-level athletes.  As a full-time salaried position, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the team;
  • Direct coaching of swimmers in the National group and other swimmers, as needed.  On deck coaching time will range from 18-24 hours per week with additional hours on selected weekdays and weekends for meets;
  • Supervision of the assistant coaching staff to execute programs that allow swimmers to reach full potential and progress through our program to the National level, high school and beyond;
  • Collaboration with the Board to fulfill the strategic plan and mission of PAAC;

Salary:  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  PAAC will pay for USA membership, professional development, and annual attendance at clinics.  There is potential for additional income by expanding and/or growing the program.

Candidate Qualifications: The successful candidate will have 5+ years of coaching experience with a track record of assisting or directly coaching athletes that have reached the National level.  All candidates should possess a minimum of ASCA Level 1 certification, current USA Swimming coach certifications in good standing, as well the required background checks (a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police, a certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and an FBI fingerprint clearance). A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Candidates should have experience that illustrates strong management skills, communication and motivation skills, team building and community involvement. Supervisor — Developmental Programs (Part Time) This position oversees our entry level Mini Ducks and Mighty Ducks programs with Lead Instructor responsibilities for the Mighty Ducks. Key responsibilities include managing details of staff scheduling, class rosters, curriculum development, and swimmer evaluations. Compensation is hourly.

***   Instructors — Mini Ducks (Part Time, in-water) Our Mini Ducks program is for children 5-10 years with minimal swimming experience. These classes meet twice weekly, 30 minutes. Instruction is in-water with a focus on water safety and basic instruction. Swimmers who can swim 25m freestyle and backstroke become eligible for our Mighty Ducks program.  Compensation is hourly.

***   Instructors — Mighty Ducks (Part Time, on deck) Our Mighty Ducks program is for children able to swim 25m freestyle and backstroke with fundamental technical proficiency. This class meets three times weekly for 40 minutes. Mighty Ducks learn breaststroke and butterfly, basic pace clock and practice organizational skills, and gain simple swimming strength. These swimmers graduate to our Yellow Squad, the first rung on our competitive team ladder.  Compensation is hourly.

Under direction of the Premier Aquatics of Central Kentucky (PACK) Board, the head coach will be responsible for managing and operating all coaching aspects of the PACK swim team.

The Chicago Wolfpack Aquatic Club (CWAC) is looking for enthusiastic and energetic coaches to join our staff. We have positions open for a few of our state level, regional level, and developmental level groups. These positions would be part time employment with pay being either hourly or salary depending on experience.

 

The mission of CWAC is to embrace swimmers of every level and provide them with the best possible environment and resources, allowing them to progress from novice to the highest level of competition. General Statement of Duties:
The Recreation & Aquatics Supervisor is a full-time position responsible for hiring, training and
supervising all Aquatic staff. This position is responsible for the coordination and operations of
our swimming lessons and swim team along with assisting with other Parks & Recreation duties such
as but not limited to: developing and overseeing recreational programs/special events, facility
rentals, updating of department website, overseeing Dog Park and Park Pass operations, program
registration and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of Recreation & Aquatics Supervisor:
➢ Interview, hire, train, schedule and supervise all Aquatic Staff.
➢ Coordinate and oversee the operation of our summer Swim Team. This includes hiring of coaches,
overseeing weekly practices, swim meets and working with other communities.
➢ Maintain all written records and reports as required by the City, Health Department and other
regulatory
agencies.
➢ Develop and supervise recreational programming and special events.

The Ridgefield Aquatic Club (RAC) is pleased to announce the recruitment of a Full-Time Assistant Coach. RAC is a 260 member swim team (164 competitive members that competes in the Connecticut Swimming LSC). The club operates as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors that works closely with the Head Coach/CEO on the business side, while the Head Coach/CEO is responsible for the day to day operations of the swim program. RAC is currently recognized as a USA Swimming Club Excellence Silver Medal Program. During the past year, RAC has had Olympic Trial qualifiers, Junior National Finalists, Eastern Zone Finalists, and placed swimmers on the National Age Group and Senior Top 10 list.

RAC is looking for a candidate with a passion for swimming and the ability to communicate well with swimmers, coaches, and parents. He or she must possess the knowledge and ability to implement a skill and technique based swimming program in a fun and positive manner.

Specific job duties include:

  • Assist age group coaches with other practice groups.
  • Serve as the lead coach in the absence of the Head Coach.
  • Attend all scheduled practices/meets and also maintain regular office hours. Plan web-based communications.
  • Help prepare meet entries for swimmers.
  • Establish a monthly report to be reviewed by the RAC Board of Directors.

Previous coaching experience is required.

Applicants must have achieved ASCA Level 1 certification, but Level 3 or higher is preferred. This position reports to the RAC Head Coach/CEO. Prospective candidates must have all current USA swimming certifications (Coaches Safety Training, CPR, First Aid, and have already passed the USA Swimming background check). RAC is offering a competitive compensation package with a yearly salary between $35-40,000 including bonuses. RAC will also provide paid vacations and a health care stipend of approximately $1,500 per year.

The Head Coach will also foster positive relationships, mentor, and communicate well with coaching staff, swim team members, and parents. Essential Job Functions

COACHING DUTIES

 Team Practice:

  • The Head Coach shall organize all team practices.  
  • The Head Coach is allowed flexibility for the summer workout schedule but must attend both morning and evening hours.
  • Absences due to Sierra Nevada related activities (attending out of town meetings, etc.) are excused.
  • All substitute coaching assignments due to absences are the responsibility of the Head Coach.

 Coaching Staff:

  • The Head Coach is responsible for the hiring and termination of all coaching staff and to report to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • The Head Coach shall provide supervision and direction for all assistant coaches.
  • The Head Coach shall provide written goals and objectives for the coaching staff and submit them annually to the board for review.
  • The Head Coach shall perform written evaluations of the coaching staff for review annually.
  • The Head Coach shall conduct regular staff meetings with coaching staff.

The Head Coach will schedule all team meets.

  • The Head coach shall be responsible for designating the appropriate number of coaches to be in attendance at all team meets and dual meets.  If the Head Coach will not be present at a meet, he/she shall provide the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, at least one week in advance, with the names of assistant coaches and/or substitute coaches who will be attending the meet.
  • The Head Coach shall set the format for all team meets in coordination with the Meet Director.
  • The Head Coach will have the opportunity to attend at least one coaching seminar per calendar year with approval from the Executive Committee.  The Swim Association will pay the cost of registration, travel and lodging as allowable within the budget for the given year.
  • The Head Coach along with the Board of Directors shall be responsible for promoting fundraising efforts and related team activity by informing parents and encouraging the swimmers to participate.
  • The Head Coach shall ensure that the coaching staff has met the minimum safety requirements established by USA Swimming.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

 The Head Coach shall report directly to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors regarding all administrative matters.

 The Head Coach shall attend all regularly scheduled board meetings and:

  • Provide the Board of Directors with a monthly review of all team progress and assistant coach performance and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Provide the Board of Directors with updates of events relating to Sierra Nevada Swimming (SNS), North Valley Aquatic League (NVAL) and other legislative bodies.

The Head Coach shall be responsible for the recording of attendance at team practices and submitting a monthly report by the following month to the Membership Director.

The Head Coach shall participate in the formulation of and execution of the discipline policy for members of the swim team.  This policy shall be in writing and shall be included in the registration packet and issued to all swimmers and their parents. The discipline policy stated in the Parent Handbook shall be reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors.

The Head Coach shall be responsible for maintaining all personnel files, including written reviews and documentation of meetings with employees.  All files must be reviewed annually and updated. All employees must have one on one review at least once a year.

The Head Coach must review, approve and have time cards ready for bookkeeper.  It is the coach’s responsibility to verify hours and communicate with employees.

The Head Coach and/or approved designee shall:

Attend all NVAL scheduled meetings and team sanctioned meets each season.  

Be responsible for:

  • Maintaining team files monthly.
  • Managing swim clinics.
  • Providing motivational activities for swimmers.
  • Writing and distributing weekly parent communication via email and oversight relative to the team website.
  • Manage distribution of other printed material (meet sheets, flyers, etc.).
  • Coordinating regular social activities (pizza nights, BBQ’s, etc.).
  • Creating monthly attendance rosters for coaches.
  • Provide meet results to news media.
  • Parent education communications and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 10 years’ coaching experience preferred
  • American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Certification (Level 2 or above) or ability to obtain certification.
  • Proven experience running the ‘dry side’ of a youth sports non-profit or other organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Able to present information effectively to large groups of adults as well as children in both instructional and non-instructional settings.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team. Good work ethic and a desire to “get the job done.” Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
