60% Competition Director 

  • Oversee compliance with vendor, sponsor, and competition contract(s)

After a recently completed multi-faceted renovation, the Wilton YMCA offers elite training facilities for all athletes. A 6-lane 50-meter pool with new moveable bulkheads offers 12 lanes of short course training. A new bubble, installed in 2019, offers protected indoor facilities in the winter and an outdoor training experience during the summer months. An indoor 6-lane 25 yard warm-water pool offers private space for swim lessons, pre-team, and developmental team practice. A newly renovated (2020) Performance Training Center offers private space for our certified dryland coaches to lead swimming-specific functional dryland programs for all training squads.

WYW has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, Exempt status, Assistant Age Group Coach.  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Age Group Coach in daily training and technique instruction with our Age Group Squads (Maroon and Gold). The Qualified Candidate will lead our two Developmental Groups (Super Bronze and Super Squad) with cooperation with the Head Age Group Coach in developing a season plan, meet schedule, and daily instruction.

This position also has direct responsibility for coaching our YMCA Master’s Team which is comprised of approximately 15 -20 swimmers ages 18 and over who participate to compete or to stay fit.

A qualified candidate will show passion for the sport of swimming, engage in professional and regular communication with parents and Masters team swimmers  and impart knowledge for implementing enjoyment and engaging skill-based swimming curriculum for their athletes. The Wahoos Assistant Age Group/ YMCA Master’s Team Coach  will strive to incorporate the YMCA Core Values and the Wahoos mission statement; “Excellence in developing personal potential though swimming and providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for all Wahoos.”

The Topspin Lead Coach at Carolina Aquatics has a unique opportunity to put their stamp on a wide variety of talented swimmers. Located in the fast-growing community of Lexington, Topspin is a crucial part of CA’s long-term strategic plan to solidify its place as the premier team in the Midlands of South Carolina.

The Lead Coach will oversee the daily operations of the site, which includes managing multiple assistant coaches. Topspin will be home to Intro, Piranha, Barracuda, and Pre-Senior training groups, which span from beginners all the way up to some of our top age-group swimmers. Swimmers will ultimately move to the Senior group, which trains at our USC location. 

The Lead Coach will have the opportunity to design and implement a training program that fits within CA’s larger training philosophy, which is rooted in detailed technique instruction, energetic coaching, introduction to race-pace training principles, and fostering a love for the sport of swimming.

Solana Beach Swim Masters has been offering daily practices since February 1994 in beautiful Solana Beach, CA at the Pardee Aquatics Center branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito. To take the program to the next level, we are seeking a dynamic, inviting, and experienced COACH to lead the way!

Our program includes all levels of adult swimmers (fitness, training, triathletes, former collegiate, open water, surfers, paddle, etc.)—and we need a coach who has experience across the board! We have beginners all the way up to Ironman World Champions and have been a stop for many top pros on their way to Kona.

TIME COMMITMENT

The new coach will be present at most workouts totaling approximately 20 to 25 hours on-deck and an additional approximately 5 to 10 hours of admin, events, team-growth, social events, swim meets, etc. = Total of approximately 30-35 hours per week.

Current Practice Schedule:

  • Intro to Masters:
    • Mon, Wed, Fri 10:45-11:45 a.m.
  • Masters:
    • Mon through Fri 5:15-6:30 a.m. and 6:30-7:45 a.m., 11:45-1:00 p.m.
    • Sat and Sun 10:00 – 11:15 a.m.

Depending on candidate availability this could be Part-time with benefits (avg. 30 hours per week) or Part-time without benefits. We are looking for the best fit for our program and can offer the hours and commitments listed above or scale-back the hours and commitment for the right person. DUTIES:

  • Set training program weekly/daily cycles and themes
  • Write workouts and coach on-deck
  • Expand social media presence
  • Recruit and grow program – outreach, attend events, etc,
  • Organize and attend social events
  • Branding: team logo, apparel, caps, banners, equipment
  • Work with development, scheduling, and management of assistant coaches
  • Membership: tracking team registration, roster, payments, sign ups and membership cards, and making sure all are up to date with payments; calling or following up with all lapsed memberships etc.
  • Work with the Aquatic Director, the Rancho San Dieguito General Manager, and the Aquatics Coordinator for scheduling, hiring, and program development logistics and ideas
  • Develop both “Intro to Masters” and “Masters” programs and tracks:
    • Intro: Beginners track
    • Masters: Fitness—most common track is fitness, attending to maintain fitness and get fit
    • Masters: Competitive—some want to take to next level; coach will need to provide opportnities for these masters by making available sign up for USMS, providing all meet opportunities, attending competitions, assist with processing entries, discussing goals, etc.

PAYRATE: This is an Hourly/Nonexempt position; competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience with potential for periodic incentives based on membership growth.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Aquatics manages all administrative functions for the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium, and coordinates with programming from AA Physical Education, AA Athletics, Charger Aquatics, and Think Academy. In addition, the Director provides technical assistance and consultation with the Think Summer program.

QUALIFICATIONS  

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred
  • Lifeguard Instructor certification and CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator certification preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand new software applications
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software primarily, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of database management software for CAQ and SS data
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting software (Senior Systems ideally)
