PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides instruction; provide specific and corrective feedback to each client at each session
  • Design and deliver effective and rewarding sessions and workouts
  • Provide swim evaluations to help parents decide which program is best for their child and client retention
  • Maintain accurate, current records on all clients’ progress; follow progression guidelines
  • Enforce all pool rules and aquatics center and club policies

  • Provide excellent communication with the parents of swimmers as well as all members and staff

  • Ensure the safety of swimmers at the practice by following proper precautions and regulations.

  • Help set up and run swim meets as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. 9. Communicate effectively with the Head Coach about daily practice procedures, emergencies, and information regarding swimmers and swim team well-being.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least two years of coaching experience.

  • Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families.

  • Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice.

  • Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers.

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and supervising all assistant coaches.

  • Assist with New Employee Orientations for all assistant coaches.

  • Develop and lead weekly coaches meetings.

  • Develop methods to track swimmers progress throughout the season.

  • Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices.

  • Keep current with research in aquatics related areas.

  • Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes

    available to them.

  • Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs.

  • Attend and assist running Aquatics special events and conducted at our facility as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and

    AED/CPR and First Aid.

  • ASCA Level 2 certified or above.
  • Current USA Swimming certified coach.
  • Extensive experience working with children and teenagers.
  • Strong background in competitive swimming.

  • Must have at least two years of supervisory experience
  • Must have knowledge and experience using Team Unify, Colorado Timing Systems and OME.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner.

The Hillsboro Swim Team is looking for an Assistant Coach to directly work with, and assist the Head Coach and his two training squads.  This individual would also be asked to coach and manage a squad of 13-14 year olds.  The right candidate should be a motivated, passionate individual who is looking to learn, and ultimately is excited about working collaboratively with the entire HEAT staff to continue building towards our vision of the Hillsboro Swim Team and it’s goals.

The Hillsboro Swim Team has continued to achieve Silver or Bronze Medal status in USA Swimming’s Club Excellence program nearly every year since it first applied in 2006.  This past year it’s Senior program was represented by a Junior Pan Pacs Medalist and Junior Team Member; won the Western Sectional Team Men’s Title; and qualified three 18 and Under athletes for the 2020 Olympic Trials.

A potential candidate should have:

  • 2-3 years coaching experience minimum
  • Open Mind/Willingness to Learn
  • Ability to collaborate and work with the Entire HEAT Coaching Staff on a shared Vision
  • Current and Good Standing on ALL USA Swimming Coaching Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Parents/Swimmers
  • Passion to Coach/Mentor/Guide any and all HEAT athletes regardless of ability level

On deck coaching hours include (but will not always be limited to):

Monday-Thursday:  4-8pm
Friday:  4-6:30pm
Saturday:  7-10:15am

Swim meets as assigned by Head Coach… typically 1-2x a month.

Other responsibilities include meet entries, communication through articles written by coach, staff meetings, any other tasks assigned by Head Coach.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.  This is a salaried position.

Columbia Association is currently accepting applications for Part Time Age Group Coaches within the Columbia Aquatics Association (Clippers) program.

CAA is level 4 recognized club by USA swimming. Run by the Columbia Association we are dedicated to promoting the sport of competitive swimming for all ages through positive motivation and the teaching of proper stoke technique. We strive to produce swimmers who are able to excel in competition at all levels from novice to National. The team currently consists of over 370 swimmers from 6-18.

CAA is looking for individuals who are energetic, knowledgeable, ethical, and able to communicate with parents, fellow coaches and swimmers of all ages. You must be able to work as part of a coaching team and with all Columbia Association team members. Candidates must have or be willing to get all required certification (first aid, CPR, safety training for swim coaches, etc.).

Responsibilities for Age Group coaches include: coaching practices between 2 and 30 hours a week, as well as attending meets on weekends during most months, entering swimmers in desired events for swim meets based on practice agenda’s and performance.

Requirements: Candidates must have or be willing to get all required certification (first aid, CPR, safety training for swim coaches, etc.).
