The Associate Head Coach/asst. aquatics manager reports directly to the Head Coach/aquatics manager.

The Coach will be responsible for on deck coaching time, communicating with parents/swimmers, some administrative duties and will typically attend 1-2 weekend meets per month. Practices run 4-6pm Monday-Friday, with opportunity to coach Saturdays if desired. Scope:

The Age Group/Senior-Level Coach of the Tigard-Tualatin Swim Club demonstrates energy, enthusiasm, responsibility and leadership. S/he will be involved in all aspects of the TTSC program, including (but not limited to) scheduling, training, performance, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct 1-2 hours per day of on-deck coaching, working with their respective group.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and other coaches (email, phone, face to face).
  • Coordinate and develop group goals and curriculum.
  • Attend all scheduled swim meets, meetings, and team functions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-year successful experience as a swim coach with a USA Swimming team is preferred (prior experience teaching swim lessons and/or coaching summer league also OK).
  • Positive and energetic presence with a passion for teaching technique.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety, and Safe Sport certifications and membership in good standing with USA Swimming.

Teach and coach student athletes on training for swimming and diving and advising them on
team work and motivational techniques within the context of our Christian commitment.
Instruct and supervise team practices, training sessions and contests.
Effectively recruit student athletes while working in conjunction with the Admissions Office.
Schedule contests and practices for each season.
Manage team budget and supplies in recruitment, team travel, hospitality, equipment, etc.
Participate on committees and in professional development as appropriate.
Fund raise for operations and scholarship budget.
Organize and lead summer swim camps and generate revenue by offering swim lessons.

Beach Cities Swimming is a non profit board run swim team established in 2012.  We train in multiple facilities in Redondo Beach, CA. BCS has approximately 400 members including a pre competitive program. We have an immediate openings for a part-time Age Group/Assistant Coach. This position requires both on deck coaching and 1-2 weekend meets per month. This position can work into a more permanent/full time position.

Desired Qualifications for Age Group Coach:

  • 3 + years coaching experience and/or competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level
  • Current USA Swimming Coach Certifications
  • Strong administrative, communication and organizational skills with swimmers and parents
  • Desire and passion for developing swimmers of all ages
  • Expertise with technique development and training
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated team player who can lead or follow

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • JCC Waves– a USA Swimming club located in Irvine Ca., training at the Merage JCC, is looking for a Developmental Age Group coach with a passion for competitive swimming and is excited to work with younger swimmers, developing stroke technique and possess a competitive spirit.  This coach will take the lead with our novice program and assist the head age group coach with the intermediate and advanced age groups (ages 5-12).

    Coaching hours are M-F 3:00-7:00pm.  Must have availability that allows for:

    •  4-5 hours on-deck coaching daily
    • Additional daily hours are available
    • 4-6 office hours weekly including meet entry and administrative duties
    • 1-2 swim meets monthly with additional swim session pay
    • Stroke lesson opportunities
    • Gym membership and use of all facilities is included aster 30 days of hire

 

Requirements:

  • Must have previous coaching experience
  • USA Swimming certified coach with the following certifications:
    • CPR/First Aid Certified
    • Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certified
    • Athlete Protection and Background Check
    • ASCA Level 1 or complete by end of year of hire date
  • Able to work with all levels swimmers, especially beginners
  • Must be able to lead instruction and use stroke progressions to teach each stroke
  • Must be able to provide stroke analysis, write workouts & create a season plan
  • Must communicate and work with parents
  • Professional attitude and an organized self-starter.
