Main Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with PE swimming classes, both learn-­to-­swim and stroke development.

Nu Wave Swim Club is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, passionate swim coach to serve as the Head Site Coach for our site at the Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Qualified candidates will have strong communication skills. The Newman Site is home to Nu Wave Stroke School and Seasonal Competitive programs.

 

The Nu Wave Stroke School services swimmers, ages 5-10 years old, who are transitioning from lessons to swim team. Our Seasonal Competitive groups are designed for introductory swimmers and multi-sport athletes, or as an alternative to our High Performance track. These groups are split into 8&U, 9-12, and 13&O age groups.

Nu Wave Swim Club has four sites across the greater New Orleans area. Nu Wave has reached Level 4 status in the USA Swimming Club Recognition Program. In 2019, Nu Wave was recognized as a Bronze Medal Club in USA Swimming’s Club Excellence Program.

 

 

Head Site Coach duties include:

  • Coach both the Whitecaps (9-12 yr old) and Varsity (13&O) Seasonal Competitive groups.
  • Coordinate evaluations for all incoming swimmers eligible for Newman Site programs.
  • Emphasize the importance of proper technique, teamwork, learning in a group setting, work ethic, and sportsmanship.
  • Work with Seasonal Competitive coaches to establish goals for WAVE swimmers, oversee swimmer progress, and communicate progression plans.
  • Oversee and supervise Newman Site staff. Report on monthly coach hours, vacation/sick days, and periodic reviews.
  • Set practice schedules, practice groups, and criteria for advancement from group to group in partnership with the WAVE Head Coach and Head Age Group Coach.
  • Effectively manage swim team administrative tasks.
  • Hold education meetings with parents and swimmers as agreed upon with the WAVE Head Coach.
  • Contribute to coaches’ communications including team news/updates.
  • Communicate statistics on team members, such as practice and meet attendance, goal achievement, and team records.
  • Facilitate progress toward USA Swimming Club Recognition and Club Excellence Goals.
  • Develop cooperative and supportive relationships with the City of New Orleans, including local high schools, middle schools, and summer recreation teams.

Job Requirements:

  • S. citizen eligible to work in Louisiana.
  • 3+ years of coaching experience with administrative responsibilities.

The Collingswood Marlins summer swim team is seeking an experienced swim coach for the 2020 swim season during which the Marlins will be competing in the National Division of the Suburban Swimming Association of South Jersey. We are looking for a high-energy, motivated individual to lead approximately 140 swimmers of all ability levels in our competitive summer swim league. Afternoon practices are held from 3:15 pm through 6:15 pm on weekdays beginning approximately Tuesday, May 26th at Roberts Pool in Collingswood, New Jersey . Weekday morning practices are held at the same location from 7:15 am through 10:30 am beginning Monday, June 24th. Regular season swim meets are held on Saturday mornings from approximately June 20th through July 25th with the League Championships scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd. Time trials are typically scheduled the Saturday prior to the first meet, and a Masters Meet will be held on approximately Sunday, July 26th. The team-wide banquet to celebrate the season is held shortly after Championships. The ideal candidate would have head coaching experience, strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to connect with children from grades K-12, and an infectious enthusiasm for the sport of swimming.

The ideal candidate will work together with the assistant coaches to carry out the day-to-day responsibilities of leading the team, under the supervision of the Marlins Parent Board and the Collingswood Director of Recreation.

Job Responsibilities:

Sahuarita Stingrays is looking for a part-time assistant swim coach, primarily working with ages 12 & under. Qualified candidates should be very responsible, prompt and enthusiastic about coaching and teaching. Coaching experience of at least 2 years is preferred, but not required. A history of competitive swimming, or a teaching background is also helpful.

Our coaching staff focuses on high quality technique instruction, keeping things fun, and racing every day. We have swimmers of all levels from total beginners to Olympic Trials qualifier. The primary coaching responsibility for this position will be preparing the 10 to 13 year old swimmers for the senior and high performance groups. Swimmers will need to be introduced to and begin implementing complex training concepts. The pre-senior ‘Gold Group’ has six 2 hour swimming sessions per week and three 30 min dryland sessions per week. The position will require the coach to plan and guide all 9 sessions.

Other coaching responsibilities will include assisting the head coach with the more junior groups as well as the senior program. Three training groups exist in the senior program and coaching assignments will be at the discretion of the head coach.

In addition, responsibilities include coaching at all scheduled meets (both on island and overseas), management of meet entries and results, maintenance of the Team Unify website, and routine administration assignments for the club.

Experience/Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a minimum of three years previous experience of coaching and motivating swimmers at all levels in a club competitive swim programme, and an excellent knowledge of current swimming techniques, training methods and FINA Rules. Minimum certification of ASCA Level 2 Swimming Coach or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree would be an advantage. Must also have relevant safety certifications, including First Aid, and CPR.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be committed to attending Club fixtures including competitions both on Island and overseas which will require working evenings and weekends on a regular basis.

Excellent communication skills along with effective time management, planning and organizational skills are required. Ability to design and implement effective swimming programs for all levels of swimmers. Must be familiar with Team Unify website technology and Meet Manager programs and have a high level of literacy for writing emails, news items, notices and website communications.

DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Swimming Coach will report to the Head Swimmming Coach and be responsible for assisting in the recruitment, maintaining roster size, practice planning, meet scheduling, and budget management of the Keiser University’s Swimming Program.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Swim Coach will:
• Assist in the planning, organization and the on-going development of the athletic programming and activities of the program.
• Assist in the building of a cohesive and competitive program.
• Recruit academically and athletically qualified, full-time student-athletes to participate in the program.
• Promote the academic progress and graduation of student-athletes, including assisting with enforcement of a study program.
• Assist athletic department in athletic issues as needed.
• Abide by the rules and regulations of the league in which you will be competing.
Expectations: We expect the Assistant Swim Coach to:
• Submit all required assignments on or before designated due dates.
• Report any known violations or concerns to administration
• Conform to all Athletic Department policies and procedures as required.
• Represent Keiser University and the Athletic Department as a team player, as a professional, and as a role model for all student-athletes.
• Attend regularly scheduled Athletic Department Staff meetings.
• Possess a valid CPR Certification
• Communicate with all coaches/trainers regarding their meet needs.
• Possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License and be responsible for driving Keiser University vehicles and/or rental vehicles when assigned for away contests.

Select Team of Aquatic Racers, located in The Colony/Frisco and Carrollton/Farmers Branch area of Texas, is seeking a part-time competitive team swim coach. Practice hours are late afternoons/early evenings Mondays – Fridays some weekend practice and meet responsibilities are available as well. Possible hours can vary 15-25 hours per week. Position may extend to increased hours or full time and salaried as swim team growth progresses.

Job requirements and responsibilities:

  • Experience with competitive swimming (as swimmer and/or coach):
    • YMCA, summer league, school team, lessons program experience acceptable
    • USA Swimming team experience preferred
  • Knowledge of all 4 strokes, streamlines, flip turns, and racing starts is required
  • Experience working with children ages 5 and up preferred

Consistent with the Christian mission and vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Senior Aquatics Director, the Association Swim Team Coordinator will model the YMCA’s unwavering commitment to aquatic safety. S/he is responsible for overall operations of the YMCA Swim Team program and must maintain communication, standards, and fiscal responsibility achieve our vision of becoming a leader of Swim Team in our service area.

Essential Functions:

  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Represent the YMCA and build relationships with Aquatics Directors, Center leaders and volunteers from area aquatics organizations
  • Develop and ensure outstanding customer/member service
  • Communicate with all parties involved regarding upcoming meets, results, requirements, trainings, and updates
  • Maintain current and relevant information within electronic communications including YMCA website, social media, emails and advertisements
  • Supervise all aspects of the Maryland Farms Swim Team program, including hiring, recruiting volunteers, training, coaching and any disciplinary action to ensure the program’s success
  • Set up, manage, and clean up after Association and Center swim meets
  • Lead staff and volunteers in the development of program strategies and meet all Association program standards
  • Ensure compliance with all Association policies and procedures
  • Order and maintain all supplies for use with Association and Maryland Farms Swim Team including, but not limited to, ribbons, suits, meet software, enrollments, etc.
  • Coordinate management and maintenance of equipment and facilities used
  • Participate in special events, activities and meetings, including staff meetings, trainings, and assigned committees as requested
  • Coach all Maryland Farms and USA sessions  according to the standard and guidelines set by the YMCA Coach Program
  • Attend and/or provide appropriate staff for all USA swim meets – home and away
  • Complete all paperwork and forms required for each swim meet

  • Before start of 1st shift: Basic Life Support, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen
  • Within 30 days of hire:  Membership Software Training, Foundations of Coaching 101 and 102, USA Swimming Certification
  • Within 60 days of hire: Intro to Listen First, Living Our Cause training, and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming and Diving
  • Within six months of hire: Certified Pool Operator certification

Karishim Swim Club (KASC), a competitive swimming club in Newton, MA, is currently accepting applications for the position of Age Group Coach.  We are looking for a coach who is a dynamic team player and is excited to help KASC continue its growth in both size and achievement. We are looking for someone to contribute our athlete’s growth both in and out of the pool.

 

Job Details:

  • Prepare practices on a weekly basis based on phase of training and swimmer’s needs/ability
  • Maintain a focus on technique, skill development and athlete development
  • Submit all written practices to Head Coach at beginning of each week during training phase of employment
  • Work closely with the Aquatics staff and other coaches to promote the club as a whole
  • Participate in weekend swim meets as required
  • Attend all coach’s meetings (approximately 4-5 per year)
  • Help determine swimmers’ events for meet entries
