KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach for Swimming and Diving, the dive coach will discharge the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee aspects of competitive Division III Diving programs. This will include practice and meet coaching, recruiting, and some travel planning associated with the program.

 

  • Mentor and coach student-athletes and assist student-athletes in the development of sport-specific/event-specific skills and an understanding of strategies necessary to succeed.

 

  • Participate in committees and provide service to the Department, University, and Profession.

 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and past diving/coaching experience required
  • Minimum 2 seasons of coaching diving or diving experience as a student-athlete in collegiate competition
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to travel and work a flexible schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work with student employees
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse faculty, staff, students, and university community
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth and enhancement
  • Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or ability to immediately obtain
  • Valid state driver’s license

Additional Information

This is a part-time, ten-month, term-appointed, position. The start date will be negotiated with the final candidate and will start no later than October 1, 2019. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

2. Provide coverage as needed in the event of inadequate staffing and lifeguard breaks.

Suðuroyar Swim Club (Suðuroyar Svimjifelag) or as we locals say “SuSvim” is located on the third largest Island in the Faroe Islands.  Suðuroy (South Island) has a modern community with approximately 5.000 inhabitants and all common facilities.

Suðuroyar Swim club has approximately 150 members. 50 participate in the swim school, and 25 competitive swimmers. The club has access to two swimming pools (the main pool 50m in Vágur, and a smaller pool of 12,5m in Tvøroyri), fitness center, as well as other sport facilities. New indoor arena has opened next to the main swimming pool.

Currently the competitive swimmers of the club compete in National, Nordic and European competitions, with some of the swimmers highly ranked in their respective European age group. The club wants to  strengthen its position to be the best in the country, and to have swimmers among the best in the Nordic countries, and within 4 years among the best in Europe’s junior levels.

The DART Swimming team (Davis, CA location) is looking for a full-time age group coach.  DART is a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club with sites in Davis and Sacramento, CA.  The team is consistently one of the top teams in Northern California and currently has two senior athletes on the USA National Team.  Our age group program consistently has swimmers ranked top 10 in the US.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about the sport of swimming, is focused on swimmer development, and can work with current staff on swimmer progression plans. The candidate will lead our top 11-12 competitive swimmers along with assisting other competitive groups. Additional administrative duties will also be required.

 

Qualifications/Expectations:

  • Previous coaching experience
  • Maintain the safety and background check requirements required to be a USA Swimming coach member
  • A thorough knowledge of competitive swimming and stroke mechanics to coach competitive age group swimmers
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, positive role model, team-oriented, dependable, good communicator
  • Develop and implement team and individual goals with the swimmers and monitor the progression of the athletes and team in reaching these goals.
  • Timely & professional communication with parents and swimmers.
  • Develop and maintain seasonal plans for the progression of our 11-12 program.
  • Assist in selecting the appropriate schedule of seasonal competitions
  • Demonstrate a willingness to communicate with parents to help swimmers achieve their goals

Volunteer Coach for Women’s Swim & Dive

UCLA is taking application to fill the position of Volunteer Coach for the Women’s Swimming & Diving program. The position reports directly to the Head Swimming & Diving Coach and is an opportunity to learn all aspects of coaching and administering a Division 1 Swimming & Diving program while working under the Pac-12 and Division 1 NCAA rules and regulations.

The Volunteer Coach will assist the coaching staff with the day-to day- functions of practice, on-campus recruiting visits, and administrative duties. This is an unpaid, volunteer position. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn the operations of a Division 1 program with the eventual goal of becoming a college coach.

Responsibilities would be to contribute in the following areas:
•Daily operations of swimming and diving program
•Coaching responsibilities during scheduled practice
•Video analysis of technique of student athletes
•Strength and conditioning of student athletes
•On campus recruiting by aiding in recruiting weekends, meetings, and tours
•Searching through results to locate new prospective student athletes

Job Description

The Assistant Coach supports the head coach by organizing the Swim Team and assisting with the direction of practices including the instruction and motivation of athletes in techniques and strategies. The objective of the position is to assist the Head Coach in the continued growth of our USA Swimming Program that produces the highest attainable levels of competitive excellence in individual and team performance, while fostering a positive environment that fulfills MMA goals and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all levels of swimming in the USA program.
  • Oversee seasonal progression of athletes, set goals with swimmers and monitor phases of development with individual swimmers
  • Prompt attendance at all scheduled workouts and swim meets to include weekends
  • Assist in setting training schedules, practice groups, and athlete placement within groups

Requirements

  • Must have (or obtain prior to being on deck) certification in Adult and Pediatric/Child CPR and AED
  • Current USA Swimming Coach in good standing, preferred Level 1
  • Minimum 2 years Coaching Experience at Club or NCAA level
  • Experience leading large groups of athletes and families

We are looking to hire an assistant coach/intern for our Swimming & Diving Program at Baldwin Wallace University, a Division III Institution in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Responsibilities include:
  • On-Deck coaching at practices and meets
  • Assistance with team administration
  • Assistance with recruiting (goal for this next freshman class is 14 swimmers/divers)
  • Coordination of swim lesson program, and assistance with swim clinics

Additional Information:

  • This is approximately a 10-month position – we are asking that our new coach will be available on campus on early September  and your duties would continue through May 15th
  • This is a new position on our staff, there is a set stipend for this position to be paid out over 9-months
  • There will be the opportunity available to offer private lessons to earn additional income. You will also have the summer months to coach camps and/or summer teams. Any camps and clinics we offer would be additional pay as well.
