Assistant Position
Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club (MTAC)
OVERVIEW
Established in 1998, Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club, a level 2 USA swim club, has an opening for a strong, energetic, and dynamic Senior Coach for our growing USA Swimming team. Located to the east of Memphis in Collierville, TN (is a suburb of Memphis with a population of 50,000. Collierville is in Shelby County and is voted as one of the best places to live in Tennessee.). MTAC is comprised of 200+ year-round athletes from novice to Olympic Trials qualifiers.
POSITION
As an Assistant Coach, you’ll be responsible for the training of swimmers of all ages. This position will ensure development, implementation, and support of these athletes with regard to their short and long term goals. This opportunity also involves some off-deck work (TBD).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. The successful candidate must have a background in senior level coaching and development of swimmers.
2. Current USA Swimming background check, CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swimming Coaches certifications are required. College degree preferred.
3. Dryland training experience is a plus.
4. ASCA certification level 2 or higher is desired.
5. Workouts run in the evenings (4-7pm), Saturdays (7-10am) occasional mornings (5-7am). Meets approximately once a month. Reimbursement for all travel meets and educational opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. This qualified candidate will report directly to the Head Coach.
2. Responsible for all aspects related to the planning, preparation, and implementation of a comprehensive training and teaching plan designed to motivate our athletes.
3. Preparing meet entries, attend swim meets, and perform various administrative duties as assigned.
4. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents, the board of directors, and USA swimming communities.
COMPENSATION
A competitive compensation package will be offered. Commensurate with experience.
