DENVER – The University of Denver men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs opened its weekend with some fast swims on day one of the First Chance Invitational on Friday afternoon at El Pomar Natatorium.
Gaby Antonini highlighted the evening with an NCAA B Standard in the women’s 100 back, clocking in at 53.93.

Denver’s Kiki Lindsay opened the First Chance Invitational with a second-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:32.41.
Mary O’Neil followed that up with a win in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.30. Megan Lucyshyn rounded out the podium with a 1:53.85.
In the first men’s swim for the Pioneers on Friday, Tommy Hancock won the men’s 200 free, clocking in at 1:40.06. Riley Babson was right behind his teammate with a time of 1:40.35.
Gaby Antonini got her first win of the weekend in the women’s 100 back, finishing the race in 53.93. Dylan Wright led the Pioneer men in the event, taking third with a 50.12. Antonini’s time was good enough for an NCAA B Standard in the event.
Zoe Lynch finished second in the 100 breast on Friday evening, reaching the final wall in 1:04.35. Marco Nosack also took second for Denver in the men’s race, clocking in at 55.65.
Chrysten Pacheco continued Denver’s stretch of second-place finishes, taking second in the women’s 200 fly with a 2:07.35.
Erika Remington got Denver back in the win column in the 50 free, finishing the sprint in 23.23. Donat Fabian made it back-to-back Denver wins with his 20.40 in the men’s race.
In individual swims featuring only Denver swimmers, Sofia Nosack swam the 200 IM in 2:06.32. Fabian finished the 200 free with a 1:44.19 and Daniel Pineiro swam the men’s 100 fly in 49.35.

Up Next: Denver will close out the First Chance Invitational Saturday morning starting at 10 a.m. MT inside El Pomar Natatorium. The Pioneers will then head to the 2023 Summit League Championships in Minneapolis from February 22-25.

DENVER, Colo.– Air Force concluded the first day of competition at the First Chance Invitational at El Pomar Natatorium on Friday, as a number of Falcon swimmers found individual success.
Wen Zhang was true to form, nabbing a win in the 100 Backstroke following a time of 48.94. Gabriel Bartolomei nipped at his teammates heels to a second-place finish after a time of 50.10.
Chris Lindley roared to a win in the 1650 Free, as his time of 16:18.99 was good for a first-place finish.
Joshua Kim continues to earn his keep in his event, as the freshman was the victor in the 100 Breaststroke following a time of 55.65. Tommy Nagle (55.79) and Anthony Sebastian (56.02) placed third and fourth, respectively.
In the 200 Fly, Joseph Moore (1:50.11) and James Winterfield (1:51.79) managed respective finishes of second and third.
Stephen Zanowic was narrowly edged out in the 50 Free, though his time of 20.67 was good for a second-place standing. Matthew Lattin placed third in the race after swimming to a time of 20.74.
The Falcons will conclude the First Chance Invitational following a 10:00 am MT start at El Pomar Natatorium on Saturday, February 11.
DAY 2 RECAP

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs wrapped up its pre-Summit League Championship slate on Saturday with the final day of the First Chance Invite at El Pomar Natatorium.
Recap:
Day two of the meet opened with the 100 free. Luke Milburn led the Denver men in the event, finishing second with a 45.88.
Gaby Antonini got Denver’s first win of the day in the women’s 200 back, winning the race with a 2:01.34. Max Roslin finished second in the men’s event with a time of 1:48.12.
Zoe Lynch got another win for the Denver women, taking the 200 breast with a 2:20.49. Kiki Lindsay rounded out the podium in the event with a 2:23.47.
Chrysten Pacheco and Antonini finished 2-3 in the women’s 100 fly with times of 56.65 and 56.76, respectively.
Daniel Pineiro earned himself another podium on Saturday, taking third in the men’s 100 fly with a 49.77.
In the final distance race of the weekend, Lindsay touched the final wall of the 500 free in third with a 5:13.08.
Dylan Mes gave the Pioneers their first win on Saturday in a time of 4:33.08.
In the final individual races of the scripted event, Burnett took third in the women’s 200 IM with a time of 2:10.13, while Jason McMechan finished second in the men’s race in 1:51.39.
Saturday’s individual races saw Sofia Nosack finish the 200 IM in 2:06.32, Donat Fabian record a 1:44.19 in the 200 free, Pineiro finish the 100 fly in 49.35, Luke Milburn finish the 50 free in 21.12 and Denver’s 400 free relay combining for a time of 3:10.40.

DENVER, Colo.– Air Force did well in its final tune-up before the WAC Championships, as the Falcons again swam to success in the concluding morning of the First Chance Invitational.
Stephen Zanowic began the morning with a win in the 100 Free, winning the race with a time of 45.34.
Joseph Moore was the victor in the 200 Back, paving the way with a tie of 1:47.99. Louis Body placed third (1:49.86) while James Winterfield finished fourth (1:49.86).
The Falcons were the only side to enter swimmers in the 200 Breaststroke, as Tommy Nagle bested his teammates with a time of 2:04.88.
Wen Zhang swam to a win in the 100 Fly with a time of 47.64. Andy Armbruster finished second after touching out at 49.67.
Air Force will now prepare for the WAC Championships when the Falcons head to Pharr, TX for the February 22-25 event.
