some very odd questions
for Michael – whether former relay member reach out to potential relay member before the meet?

and this one – Japan throwing roadblock and being the host who don’t want their guests?
I am glad Chase and Michael rebuke that type of sentiment

No one freaked out THIS hard when Lochte denied answering the vaccine question back in Omaha… yes there was some chatter but MA seems to have a exponentiating effect on comment threads😂

I’m fairly certain Lochte is vaccinated.

lochte also isnt on the Olympic team
this has become a major issue because it could prevent others on the Olympic team from competing (think: NCSU baseball and France/Croatia at EJRs)

Also I think it is not right to pry into his medical situation. I mean the Stanford Women didn’t perform as well as expected. If you look at the timing of when they would get the second Covid Vaccine it would be in March or April. Yet, no journalist would dare ask Simone if she got the Covid Vaccine. It really should be none of our business.

Did any of the MA nay-sayers even bother to watch this video? He comes across as articulate, thoughtful, and poised.

Chase does, as well.

I like Michael Andrew and think he is well spoken. But in this instance, he danced around the real reason why he doesn’t get vaccinated! Maybe he shouldn’t eat any meals cause you don’t know what you are putting in your body….he might get food poisoning (more likely than reaction)! I wonder if his dad got the vaccine? Just say the truth Michael!
I watched the whole video!

Look, you can’t argue with results as he made the team in 3 individual events.

Would anyone want him to vaccinate now? Probably not.

The chances of him getting an adverse reaction from a vaccine now is MUCH greater than the chance for him to get Covid or transmit Covid to his teammates. He is in a controlled environment with frequent testing and is basically under lockdown at the Olympics with very little possible interactions with spectators in empty stadium.

USA swimming didn’t get the memo that Chase’s interviews should always be paired with Smoliga for best results.

This was pointless and unnecessary. I feel like the Andrews enjoy drawing negative attention to themselves.

How is this negative? Everyone has their right to their own opinion.

I wouldn’t say the comment was pointless. He was asked about his vaccination status, and he responded. Not that I’m defending his choice to not get vaccinated (which I find stupid), but just because he answered a reporter’s question doesn’t mean that he is trying to draw attention to being antivax. Still very irresponsible to not be vaccinated.

I’m very curious to know what other athletes on the team are unvaccinated. Anyone know who else isn’t?

Thank you Michael Andrew for fueling the conspiracy theorist fires. I wish you the absolute WORST of luck.

@Hillbilly, Just because someone chose not to get a vaccine that they, a young perfectly healthy person not in danger of the virus, you wish them the worst of luck? Leave

You don’t have to @ me boomer that’s what the reply button is for. He could get infected and pass it to someone who is not healthy and that person could die. But you Covid deniers are so selfish and shortsighted that you don’t care about anyone but yourself and “muh freedom”

@hillbilly, the people who are vaccinated can also pass it to someone who is not healthy. Show me the article that MA is more susceptible to getting Covid than his teammates.

If you believe that are you still masking in public.

People who are vaxxed are a lot less likely to pass it on to someone.
