Drew Roper also picked up 2 individual wins, taking both the 100 free and 100 back by pretty big margins. Roper won the 100 free with a 55.13, nearly 2 seconds ahead of runner-up Hailey Grandy. Roper went on to win the 100 back by over 3 seconds, posting a 59.49 to runner-up Ella Vitek’s 1:02.89.

Tony Puertas threw down wins in the boys 200 IM and 100 fly, going the fastest time from all 4 Utah state meets this season combined in both. Puertas went 1:54.58 in the IM, winning the event by 20 seconds. In the 100 fly, he went 49.91, which won the event by over 6 seconds, and would have been good enough to win the 100 free at this meet. The 100 free was won by Keldan Guymon (50.99), who also won the 50 free with a 22.67.
Braxton Pierce was a dual event winner as well, taking the boys 200 and 500 free. Pierce went 1:49.11 to win the 200 free in a tight race with Johan Boer, who finished in 1:49.82. Pierce took his 1st 50 out in 24.85 to Boer’s 25.61, then held his lead steady as their final 3 50s were all within .02 seconds of each other. Pierce also won the 500, going a 5:07 to win the event by 15 seconds.
