The Los Angeles Chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE Los Angeles) announced today that Janet Evans (Olympian & LA2028 Organizing Committee), Valorie Kondos Field (Head Coach, UCLA Women’s Gymnastics), and Christine Simmons (President & Chief Operations Officer, Los Angeles Sparks) have been selected as the recipients of the 2017 WISE Los Angeles Women of Inspiration Award.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

This year on June 22 3-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines led the swim lesson at the Aquatica in Sea World. Olympic bronze medalist Tom Wilkens was in attendance at the event in New Jersey and Janet Evans emceed the event in Orange County. The goal is to reach out to as many people as possible to actively reduce the risk of drowning in the water.
