Nitro Breaststroker Lauren Partridge Commits to Illinois

Lauren Partridge of Cedar Park, Texas, has announced her intention to swim for the University of Illinois in the class of 2022. She will join Abby Cabush, Abby Martin, Caroline Hippen, Emily Bolger, Kaylee Heimes, Maddy Crosby, Makayla Varga, Sarah Cano, Sidney Kennedy, Taylor Shegos, and Tiffany Qiao in Champaign in the fall.

“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to swim and study at the University of Illinois! Many thanks to my family, teammates and coaches who have helped and supported me along the way. Go Fighting Illini!!!”

Partridge swims for Nitro Swimming and Cedar Park High School. At the 2018 Texas UIL 5A Swimming & Diving State Meet in February, she took fifth in the 100 breast (1:06.66) and was 17th in the 200 IM (2:14.83), a bit off her best times in both events. Her PBs in the 100/200 breast come from last November’s 11 & Over November Unclassified hosted by Longhorn Aquatics. She swam her best 200/400 IMs during her sophomore season of high school. Partridge had a successful long course season last summer, notching new PBs in the 100/200 breast, 50 free, and 200 back.

Top SCY times:

  • 100 breast – 1:05.82
  • 200 breast – 2:22.59
  • 200 IM – 2:11.48
  • 400 IM – 4:36.70
