Job Summary:

The Head Age Group Coach will lead the 12 and under Age Group swimmers who participate on the Junior and Developmental Squads to assure growth, both in numbers or participants, and in profitability of the program.  The Head Age Group Coach will provide support for all aspects of the Team and Aquatic Programs.

 Duties/Responsibilities:

• Teach approximately 4-6 hours of group swim lessons in order to maintain a close relationship with swim lesson coaches so that we can matriculate children from basic learn to swim lessons, into development of stroke techniques, and then to move into the age group swim team.
• Under supervision of the Head Coach, develop and implement the training practice plan for Junior and Developmental Squads

• Co-ordinate the accuracy of the age group participants and the on-line registration system with the Team Administrator

• Submit a brief weekly report to the Head Coach detailing swimmer attendance, meet results, practice notes, equipment issues, or any other important information
• Manage the team web site content to assure that it is always current

• Post photos and program content to the Facebook Fans page, team website and YouTube at least twice a month

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate and train other age group coaches and volunteer coaches
• Ability to organize projects, prepare budget and timetables and deliver cost effective results

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

Associate Head Coach

Women’s and Men’s Head Diving Coach

General Responsibility:

Time Commitment:
The in-season period operates from September through end of March. During that time, the position requires approximately 15 hours per week of coaching (6 x 2-hour workouts with responsibilities on the weekend for meets), practice development, student-athlete mentoring, and other duties as assigned. Practices are mostly in the evenings, with competitions occurring mostly on the weekend. Outside of the competitive season, the diving coach has minimal responsibilities outside of assistance with recruiting and team events as necessary.

Head Men and Women’s Swimming/Diving Coach

Job Duties
The primary and most important responsibility of a coach is instructing student-athletes. Reporting to the Head Coach –Women’s Swimming and Diving, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of position/positions assignment as directed by the Head Coach.
• Performs planning, organization and execution for coaching (instruction/education) duties as described and assigned by the Head Coach for all meetings, practice sessions and competitions

• Evaluation of opponents and the development of a game plan for student-athlete instruction in accordance with position/positions assignment as prescribed by the Head Coach.
• Perform recruiting activities and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Swimming recruiting coordinator to meet the objectives of the university and team, including the evaluation, contact, and establishing relationships with prospective student-athletes and coaches.
• Attend all staff meetings as scheduled by the Head Coach.

Beach Cities Swimming is accepting applications for Full Time and Part Time coaches to join our dedicated staff of committed professionals.  Beach Cities Swimming is a 2023 USA Swimming Bronze Medal Club, and is the premier 18&Under high performance team in the South Bay, currently boasting multiple athletes ranked in the Top 10 in the nation. 

Our recent team accomplishments include Runner Up at the 2024 Speedo Spring Sectionals (Medium Team Division), Team Champions at the 2023 Winter Speedo Sectionals (Small Team Division), multiple individual event ‘A’ Finalists at the 2023 Winter Junior Nationals West meet, and Team Champions at the 2023 CA Summer Age Group Championships.
