Arielle Brotman, from San Diego, California, will remain in-state to swim and study at the University of California, Berkeley, beginning in the fall.
Brotman swam at La Jolla High School and trains year-round with the club team Rancho San Dieguito. She is a versatile talent (she holds 7 of her school’s 8 individual girls swimming records) and we named her to the “Best of the Rest” section of our re-ranked list of top recruits from the high school class of 2024 for her breaststroke times.
In high school swimming, Brotman was a double A-finalist at the CIF State Championships in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. This past May, in her final prep outing, she placed 2nd in the 100 fly (53.00) and 4th in the 100 breast (1:00.83), earning PBs in both events, at the California State Meet.
Brotman’s best times in club swimming include a 1:59.85 200 IM and a 2:15.59 200 breast from this winter, as well as a pair of PBs from December 2022 (100 free and 200 fly). She kicked off the 2024 long course season with a 1:11.80 in the 100 breast at Irvine NOVA’s Grand Challenge in May.
