The Marseille stage of the “FFN Golden Tour Camille-Muffat,” which is also known as the 7th Edition of the Mediterranean Open, will take place this weekend from Friday, April 6th through Sunday, April 8th, at the Cercle des Nageurs de Marseille. It is the third and final stage of the circuit that includes:
- Nice – Friday, February 2 through Sunday, February 4, 2018
- Sarcelles – Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11, 2018
- Marseille – Friday, April 6 through Sunday, April 8, 2018
371 swimmers from 74 teams are entered in the meet. French stars Jérémy Stravius, Mehdy Metella, Maxime Grousset, Clément Mignon, Jordan Pothain, Lorys Bourelly, Damien Joly, Jean Dencausse, as well as Japan’s Yasunari Hirai, David Verraszto of Hungary, Umitcan Gures and Huseyin Emre Sakci of Turkey, Lawrence Palmer, Charlie Hutchison, William Bell, and Cameron Brookes-Clarke of Great Britain, and Luiz Ribeiro Pereira of Portugal, are expected to compete in the men’s races. France’s Charlotte Bonnet, Marie Wattel, Mélanie Henique, Mathilde Cini, Fantine Lesaffre, and Fanny Deberghes will be joined by Anna Egorova of Russia, Ekaterina Avramova, Imge-Roza Erdemli, Aleyna Ozkan and Gulsen Beste Samanci of Turkey, and Great Britain’s Alicia Wilson, Tatianna Belongonoff, Angharad Evans, Amy Bell, Charlotte Rigg, and Rebecca Clynes.
All 17 FINA long course meters events will be swum during the three-day meet. The 400/800/1500 free and 400 IM are timed finals, with the fastest heat going in the evening session. (Exception: W1500 free / M800 free swim in the morning this year, to give the distance swimmers more space between the races.)

General rankings
The top 5 women and top 5 men, based on points, after 3 stages of the Golden Tour will earn a total combined purse of 30,000 €. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st in event = 5 points, 2nd in event = 3 points, 3rd in event = 1 point. The Golden Tour bonus prize money will be allocated:
- 7000 € – 1st in total points
- 3500 € – 2nd in total points
- 2000 € – 3rd in total points
- 1500 € – 4th in total points
- 1000 € – 5th in total points
