US Open Qualifier Courtney Tseng to Swim for Princeton in 2017-18

“I am so excited and thankful to officially announce my commitment to Princeton University! I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, coaches, friends, and teachers. I would like to thank Coach Teeter and Suzanne for giving me this wonderful opportunity to represent Princeton as a student-athlete. There is no doubt in my mind that at Princeton, I will be able to improve academically and athletically. I can’t wait to be a Tiger!”

Courtney Tseng, who is from Fullerton, California, committed to swim for Princeton University beginning in the fall. A senior at Sunny Hills High School, she swims year-round for Fullerton Aquatics Sports Team. Tseng specializes in mid-distance freestyle and IM, and was runner-up in the 500 free (4:46.87) at the 2016 California State Swimming and Diving Championships last May. She also won the consolation in the 200 free (1:49.44); both times were personal bests.

In club swimming, Tseng was an A finalist in the 200/500/1000 free and 200 IM at the recent California/Nevada Winter Sectionals and Spring Sectionals. She posted 500/1000 times that would have scored in the A finals, and 200 free/200 IM times that would have made B finals, at the 2017 Women’s Ivy League Championships. Her top events include:
