Lily King Sets Two State Records In One Swim, Mount Pleasant Sweeps Team Titles In PIAA 2A

2025 PIAA 2A State Meet

This gave a whole new meaning to the term “Two for one.”

Mount Pleasant senior Lily King, a North Carolina State signee, set two state records in one swim at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association 2A state meet earlier this month.

King won the 100 freestyle for the fourth straight year in a personal-best and state-record time of 47.31, breaking her own record of 47.65. She also happened to break the 50 freestyle state record during the swim, racing to a 22.54 split. The old record was 22.66.

King’s 100 free swim ranks her No. 8 all-time in the girls’ 17-18 age group.

Here is an updated top 10:

Imagine anchoring your medley relay in 21.12, and it gets lost in the story of what you do for the rest of the meet
