DART is looking for a dynamic Head Age Group coach to lead the Age Group program (14 and under) at our Solano Site.  We are looking for an individual that is looking to make a long term commitment to DART as well as their coaching career.  DART is a multi-site program that includes a very accomplished and experienced staff-we are looking to add the right person to this staff.

 

This position will start in August.  There is flexibility to start earlier or later for the right candidate.


DART is a USA Swimming silver medal safe sport recognized program with three main sites (Davis, Sacramento and Solano.)  The Solano site includes programs at several pools, including a 50 meter pool at Solano Community College in Fairfield.

 

The Head Age Group Coach responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversight of the 14 and under program-Solano site.
  • Development of a comprehensive dryland program in collaboration with our dryland coach (partnership with Pinnacle Fitness.)
  • Oversight of our summer seasonal teams-assist the Head Coach with staffing, planning and marketing.
  • Annual, seasonal, weekly and daily planning for practices, competitions and events.
  • Swim meet and event planning and coverage.
  • Support of the overall DART Age Group program.
  • Support of the Site Lead for all DART-Solano programming.
  • Support of the Learn to Swim program.
  • Additional admin support as agreed upon with the Site Lead.

 

This coach shall adhere to the USA Swimming Code of Conduct and coach membership requirements.

 

Work Schedule

This position will include coaching hours and on-site administrative hours.  Additional duties can be completed at flex times based on the individual’s schedule.  Practice hours will include weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.  Some after hour meetings will be required to accommodate volunteer schedules (committee and volunteer meetings.)

 

Qualifications

At least three years coaching competitive swimming at the USA Swimming, YMCA or College level.

 

USA Swimming coaching requirements or ability to obtain prior to the start of their employment.

 

Experience with Sports Engine, Meet Manager and other swim software is preferred but not required.

 

Ability to clearly communicate to members and their families in a timely fashion.

 

College degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.

 

Compensation
This is a salaried position.  Annual salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and may include additional benefits as negotiated. Per-Diem pay for prelims and finals meets and travel expenses for away meets.

 

Ten days of paid vacation time, in addition to two planned one-week team breaks (August and December.)

Ideal candidate is available for all workout sessions, especially their assigned Group. 1-2 weekends per month for meets, and various Team activities throughout the seasons. The Cincinnati Marlins are seeking a full time Senior/Age Group Swim Coach. The Cincinnati Marlins are a not for profit year round swim club based in two locations in the greater Cincinnati area. Our central location is at the newly renovated Keating Natatorium at St. Xavier High School in Finneytown. Our South site is at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The Marlins provide programming for nearly 400 members across our lessons, pre-competitive, competitive, water polo, and master’s groups.
A successful candidate will bring an abundance of positive energy and focus to the senior swimmers in the club and will also have responsibilities in the age group program. The Senior Coach will report directly to the Head Coach/CEO. They will work collaboratively with the Associate Head Coach and the South site lead to assist, identify, and guide athletes towards the Senior level within the Marlins. Working with athletes to set and achieve their goals from Age Group State to Trials and into collegiate swimming is an absolute must. This position will consist of on deck coaching, administrative duties, mentoring of assistant coaches, and assisting the Head Coach/CEO with assigned tasks.
We are seeking a team member with a TEAM first mentality who is driven to learn, share, grow, and work hard. Candidates must be energetic, motivated, and be able to encourage all of the athletes in our club with positive energy. Competency in teaching and developing stroke technique is a must. Understanding and previous experience with the USA Swimming American Development Model is preferred.

Senior Coach Responsibilities
Available to coach in the mornings, evenings, and weekends throughout the year.
Must be able to attend 1-2 weekend meets per month or more depending on the time of year.
Serve as a role model for athletes by demonstrating professionalism in their interactions with swimmers, parents, and fellow coaches.
Provide clear and professional communication with swimmers, parents, and coaches.
