Key Responsibilities:
- Must be Instructor Ready: uniform, lesson plans, maintain records (attendance, track progress and complete end of session report).
- Instruct participants according to YMCA Aquatics program standards: using lesson guides, guided discovery teaching, effective class organization and positive relationship with participants.

Accountabilities:
Responsible for execution of specific strategic activities and outcomes within assigned sport or area. These will include sustained performance and execution in the following areas:
• adhere to Head Coach’s philosophy
• athletic instruction
• student-athlete development
• student-athlete welfare
• scouting
• competition preparation
• program operations and administration as designated by head coach
Responsible for recruiting and management of student-athletes to include sustained performance in the following areas:
• attracting and evaluating prospective student-athletes
• monitoring student-athlete academic progress and well being
• developing and maintaining relationships with prospective student-athletes and other recruiting constituents
• contributing to overall team recruitment strategy
Responsible for the executive of specific operational and event related tasks for Lineberry Natatorium as assigned by the Head Coach.
Responsible for coordination of all aspects of facility rental operations.
Accountable for maintaining personal compliance with all relevant governing bodies to include:
• NCAA
• specific conference
• athletic department
• university policies
Accountable for maintaining professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Responsible for role modeling behaviors and leadership for student-athletes.
Responsible for effective oversight and management of student managers.

This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), in accordance with the federal statutory requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act. CSAs are required to and responsible for reporting allegations of crimes they receive from students and employees to the Campus Safety Department.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
Requires candidate to demonstrate:
• significant knowledge of swimming
• proven success in recruiting and in coaching at the college or an equivalently high level
• strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes
• knowledge and commitment to University, Conference and NCAA regulations
• technology skills and strong leadership qualities
• 3 -5 years of previous collegiate competition and/or coaching experience is required
• maintenance of current/up-to-date CPR and First Aid Certifications is required
• exceptional ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 -4 years of NCAA collegiate coaching experience
• Proven competitive success
• Experience competing and/or coaching at a Division I school
• Maintenance of current/up-to-date lifeguard certification
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred
