POSITION: Lead Age Group Coach
Directly Reports to: Aquatics Director and Managing Director
Lead Coach is responsible for establishing and implementing the general content and criteria of swimming programs and for coaching the Division 1 Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Years of Experience: 8 years +
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Sports or Equivalent coaching certification
Safety qualifications: Educare Full Modules, CPR and First Aid
ASCA Level: Level 3+ or Equivalent.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Good communicator
- Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers
- Perseverance and patience
- Spoken proficiency and good writing skills in English language
- Good IT skills
- Knowledge of using Hytek Team Manager a must
RESPONSABILITIES “
Coaching
- Coach our main Division 1 Programs but also assist where needed with our other programs.
- Assist in organizing Competitive Events.
- Assisting Schools that we operate from with their swim events as required.
- Assisting with Team Building events for leisure and competitive groups
- Follow all H2O Swim Club policies and procedures and adhere to H2O Code of Conduct
- Assist coordinate and coach, when necessary, academic school curriculum programs during school hours as required by the company
- Assist in implementing H2O School Curriculum programs as required.
- Overlook and coach a dry land program
- Assist in coordinating swim competition entries for all programs and attend swimming competitions.
- Ensure that pool checks are being carried out.
- Lead coaches meeting as required by the club
- Communicate with parents effectively and professionally
- Assist with the planning and creation of Winter and Summer Camps as required
- Ensure Progression Reports are maintained
- Ensure productive use of office hours as designated by the company for the designing and planning of programs and lessons, as well as the professional development.
- Implement and run swim clinics as required
Schedule
- Plan and design swimming pool training sessions for all groups. .
- Schedule and Lead coaches’ meetings.
- Assist in establishing swim meet calendar for each season
- Work with our other Coaches to ensure professional growth.
- Assist admin team with communicating program changes, class cancellation, attendance to competition, communication, meet information etc.
- Review swim competition entries.
- Maintain all swimmers’ timings and records
- Planning and designing swimming pool training sessions for all groups.
- Adapt and modify schedule as required to ensure a safe environment whilst achieving maximum capacity in revenue generation.
Administration
- Assist admin team with communicating program changes, class cancellation attendance to competition, communication, meet information etc.
- Assist with administration duties as required.
- Work with other coaches to coordinate competition entries for all H2O programs as required.
- Assist with administration duties as required by the club
- Ensure productive use of office hours as designated by the company for the designing and planning of programs and lessons, as well as the professional development.
- Ensure that all current qualification, such as CPR and safeguarding certification is kept up to date (maintain validity)
Hours of Work
- 40 hours per week, Saturday to Thursday, and the working days should be organized in accordance to the work requirements of the Club. This is a senior position which does not include overtime pay. However, there will be times when additional hours will be required to meet the job responsibilities, especially during competitions.
