The York YMCA swimming team, a YMCA and USA Swimming team located in York, Pennsylvania, has an opening for a full-time coaching position, the primary responsibilities of which will consist in:
- Primary coach of the 10 & under training group, helping as needed with the 11-12’s
- Coach the senior group alongside head coach Michael Brooks
- Assist the head coach with planning and running dryland practices and mental skills training sessions for various training groups/ages
- Attend swimming meets (usually one or two per month) and help run the ones we host
- Perform various team administration, filming, and technique camp duties
- Work with the head coach to increase participation in the age group program, primarily through our developmental Tidal Waves program (‘bridge’ program to the competitive team), swimming lessons, and occasional technique clinics and camps
Candidates should pass background check and athlete protection, be credentialed with USA Swimming, have or be willing to acquire a working knowledge of Commit team software and of Hytek Meet Manager, and have strong organizational and administrative skills.
