NOTABLE PRE-SESSION SCRATCHES

Women’s 100 free -The 23rd seed, Morgan Hill, from Machine Aquatics, and the 24th seed Paige Madden from City of Mobile are omitted from the heat sheets.

Men’s 100 free – Derek Toomey (17th seed) from Badger Swim Club has scratched the event.  Toomey is also listed on the psych sheets as the 10th seed in the 50 free event scheduled for Day 2.

Women’s 200 breast – Breeja Larson is actually a NEW ADDITION to the event from the January 9th-published psych sheets.  Larson is now the 3rd seed with an entry time of 2:24.16.  Scratches for the events include Badger Swim Club’s Emily McClellan (11th seed), Texas Ford Aquatics’ Destiny Nelson (23rd seed), and MetroPlex Aquatics’ Vanessa Pearl (24th seed).

Men’s 200 breast – Indie Swimming’s Michael Andrew is an ADDITION to this event from what was listed on the psychs.  Andrew is now seeded 28th with his entry time of 2:18.75.  For the list of non-swimmers, Carsten Vissering, from Nation’s Capital, was seeded 15th with a competitive time of 2:15.85, but he has scratched. University of Texas’ Imri Ganiel, the 17th seed is also missing from this morning’s heat sheet, as is NYAC’s Andrey Chechelnytski (24th seed).

Women’s 400 free – Andreina Pinto from Gator Swim Club has scratched this event, as did Lindsay Vrooman from Badger Swim Club.  Coming in as 3rd and 5th seeds, respectively, that makes two would-be major threats now irrelevant for the packed field.  8th-seed Savannah King (UBC Thunderbirds) and 9th -seed Quinn Carrozza (Longhorn Aquatics), as well as Mission Viejo’s Katie McLaughlin are also no longer listed in the prelims lane assignments.

Men’s 400 free – Clay Youngquist from the University of Texas, as well as Andrew Seliskar from Nation’s Capital have both scratched.  They were listed as the 17th and 37th seeds, respectively.

Women’s 100 fly – 6th-seed Kristel Vourna out of the University of Alabama is missing from the heat sheets this morning.

Men’s 100 fly – Two Gator boys are out of this event, as 10th-seed Marcin Cieslak and 21st-seed Sebastian Rousseau are absent from the prelims plans.

McClellan & Toomey are at USC, training with Dr. Salo, doing ultra awesome hyper-warp pace training.

Is Badger like NYAC, where swimmers just represent them at meets but might train elsewhere? Or did all these swimmers just decide to move to NY?

I doubt Badger is like that. Most of the postgrads on that team swam college up North (Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc), so I imagine they are still around there.
