Adam Peaty Adds Name to Competitor List at 2018 Euro Meet

2018 EURO MEET

  • January 26th-28th, 2018
  • d’Coque, Luxembourg-Kirchberg
  • LCM (50m)
  • Meet Central

British star Adam Peaty is the latest big name to join the party at the 2018 Euro Meet.

The meet is set for the end of the month of January in Luxembourg, a country nestled between Germany, France, and Belgium. Races are in long course, so it will be a good opportunity to see some of swimming’s top racers competing in long course after months of short course swimming.

Peaty is coming off of a short program at the 2017 European Short Course Championships last month in Copenhagen. There, he swam to gold in the 100m breast with a 55.94, setting a new European continental record in the process. He also snagged bronze in the 50m breast. He also caught attention for gifting his 100 breast gold medal to a young Danish fan after his victory.

This summer, Peaty broke world records in the long course pool at the 2017 Budapest World Championships, swimming to huge victories in the 50 and 100 breast. He was also a big reason why the British men’s 4×100 medley relay was able to reach the podium for a silver medal behind only the United States.

Katinka Hosszu was a big addition to the meet just a couple of weeks ago, too.

Really a nice little meeting, i visited it last year. Always some of the big guns firing there. And LCM! The only real deal in swimming.
