7-time MHSAA Finalist Gabby Rosely Commits to UCSD

Gabby Rosely, a 6’0” Homecoming Queen and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Walled Lake Northern High School in Commerce Township, Michigan, has signed an NLI to swim for the University of California, San Diego next fall.

“I chose the University of California, San Diego because of the energetic team, beautiful campus, spectacular weather, and VERY special coaching staff! I cannot wait to be basking in the sun with my fellow Tritons!!”

Rosely swims for her high school and the club team Huron Valley Penguins. At Walled Lake Northern she holds every individual record other than the 100 breast, and is part of the 200 medley and 400 free records, as well. At the recent 2017 MHSAA Division I Girls’ Swimming and Diving Championship, she placed seventh in the 100 back (56.73) and ninth in the 100 fly (57.53). She also led off the 200 medley and 400 free relays in prelims. In club swimming she competed in both the 100 back and 100 fly at Winter Juniors East.

Rosely had an outstanding summer LCM season. She improved in all her events, picking up new times in the LCM 50/100/200 free, 50/100 back, 50/100/200 breast, 50/100/200 fly, and 200 IM. Her best SCY times would have added still more points to the conference champion-UCSD’s total at the 2017 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships. She would have won the 100 back by 3/10, been an A finalist in the 100 free and 100 fly, a B finalist in the 200 IM, and a C finalist in the 50 free.

Top SCY times:

  • 100 Back – 55.87
  • 50 Back – 26.29
  • 100 Fly – 56.92
  • 50 Fly – 26.11
  • 50 Free – 24.64
  • 100 Free – 52.55
  • 200 IM – 2:06.79

Rosely will join the Tritons with fellow commits Brittney Miles, Ellie Whitney, Mirai Adams, Cody Hargadon, Jordan Phillips, and Olivia Parks.
