  • Men’s 100 fly
  • Women’s 200 IM
  • Women’s 800 free
  • Mixed 4×100 medley relay

Canada’s Josh Liendo enters as the top seed in the first event of the morning, the men’s 100 fly. Liendo is entered with a 50.06 and has medaled in the event the last two summers with silver at 2023 Worlds and bronze at 2022 Worlds. Frenchman Maxime Grousset won the 2023 World Title and is entered with a 50.14.

Caeleb Dressel of the US looked solid in the 50 free yesterday, qualifying for the final and will look to position himself well for tonight as he is entered as the #4 seed with a 50.19. Dressel is the World Record holder and defending Olympic Champion in the event. The rest of the podium from Tokyo is also in the event with Kristof Milak as the #6 seed and Noe Ponti as the #3 seed.

The women’s 200 IM looks to be a must-watch race after three of the women entered in the event have already won gold this week. Top seed with a 2:06.63 Kaylee McKeown (Australia) already won gold in the 100 back, #2 seed Kate Douglass (USA, 2:06.79) already won gold in the 200 breast, and #3 seed Summer McIntosh (Canada, 2:06.89) already won the 200 fly and 400 IM.

Douglass is the returning Olympic bronze medalist and has won the event at the last two World Championships, last summer in 2023 and February for the 2024 title. Fellow American Alex Walsh won silver in the event in Tokyo and makes her Paris debut this morning with a 2:07.63 entry time.

Katie Ledecky won the 1500 free already and looks to continue her reign in the 800 freestyle after winning the event at the last three Olympic Games. She also holds the World Record in the event and is entered with a 8:07.07. China’s Li Bingjie is the #2 seed and looks to bounce back after missing the 400 free final earlier this week. Bingjie is entered with a 8:13.31.

A pair of Australian’s sit as the #3 and #4 seeds. Ariarne Titmus won the 400 free this week and is the #3 seed with a 8:13.59. Lani Pallister missed the 1500 free due to COVID-19 but bounced back and helped the women’s 4×200 free relay to gold for Australia last night.

The final event of the morning is the mixed medley relay. China and Australia enter as the top two seeds but with relay lineups up in the air still, it is hard to see exactly how the morning might play out.
