Crisci joins the Vols after spending the last three seasons at Pitt. Prior to Pitt, Crisci spent a year at William & Mary but transferred after the program was originally announced to be cut (but has since been reinstated).

His best times are:

High School Freshman Sophomore Junior Senior
100 breast 55.53 55.04 53.31 52.45 51.87
200 breast 2:03.09 2:01.57 1:59.02 1:58.39 1:54.50
200 IM 1:53.33 1:50.29 1:47.71 1:46.71 1:45.44

Crisci made two C finals at ACCs during his sophomore year, and dropped even more his junior year to make the A final in the 100 breast where he ended up finishing eighth.

In his senior year, Crisci continued his momentum as he finished fifth in the 100 breast swimming a personal best time of 51.87. He also was 10th in the 200 breast and 18th in the 200 IM. He was Pitt’s highest-scoring swimmer as he scored 49 individual points, second most for the team as diver Paul Reed scored 59.

Crisci went on to qualify for his first NCAAs where he finished 27th in the 100 breast (52.18), 44th in the 200 breast (1:57.55), and 49th in the 200 IM (1:45.57).

The Tennessee men were third at SECs as a team. Notably, the team returns 0 SEC points in both breaststroke events, so the addition of Crisci is huge as they scored 46 points in the 200 breast and 55 in the 100 breast at SECs. Crisci’s best time in the 100 would have been seventh and his best time in the 200 would have been eighth at 2023 SECs.

Crisci also has the potential to fill in the gap in the medley relays as well. His 100 breast would have been the fastest on the team this season. Tennessee was sixth in the 200 and 400 medley relays at NCAAs this season.

You know he could just mean why he left as in is it the Pitt team or does he just want different education

Given the other Pitt article a couple weeks ago, I would say the team might be an issue.

Bummer for Pitt! His trajectory has been great at Pitt, even with coaching change!
