Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has picked up a verbal commitment from Lauren Pieniazkiewicz of South Bend, IN. She is a senior at South Bend Saint Joseph High School and she swims club at Irish Aquatics.

I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to continue my athletic and academic career. I would would like to thank my family, coaches, friends, and teammates for getting me to where I am today. Go Trojans!

Last high school season, Pieniazkiewicz competed at the Indiana HS Girls Sectional Championship at Penn High School. She won gold medals in both of her individual races and her 2 relays. The South Bend Saint Joseph women opened the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay. Jane Lloyd led off on back, followed by Pieniazkiewicz on breast (28.95), Evelyn Sierra on fly, and Olivia Elston on free.

Individually, Pieniazkiewicz swam the 50 free and the 100 breast. She was the top seed going into finals in the 100 breast, where she ended up winning the event by 2 seconds (1:06.28). She touched second in prelims for of the 50 free and went 0.7 seconds faster in finals to take the top spot in a time of 24.23. Finally, Pieniazkiewicz led off her school’s gold-medal-winning 200 free relay in finals (24.06).

The following week, she competed at the Indiana HS State Championships, finishing 17th in the 50 free and 100 breast, 12th in the 200 medley relay, and 7th in the 200 free relay.

Pieniazkiewicz was able to compete at the 2021 state championships this weekend, where she finished 10th in both the 50 free and 100 breast, and she earned silver medals for the 200 and 400 free relays.

She is a 2020 Futures qualifier. Last weekend she went a 23.79 in the 50 free at the HS Sectional Championships at South Bend High School. She also posted a personal best time in the 100 breast (1:05.10).

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 free – 23.79
  • 100 free – 53.47
  • 100 breast – 1:05.10
  • 100 fly – 57.85
  • 200 IM – 2:09.72

Pieniazkiewicz will make an immediate impact on Arkansas-Little Rock’s team when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2021. Her 50 free time would have made her the team’s second-fastest sprinter during the 2019-2020 season behind Annya Grom, while her 100 breast would have made her their third-fastest behind Grom and Palmer Ristroph. She would have been the third-fastest 200 IMer and the fourth-fastest 100 flyer.

Her top times would have placed her in the B-final of the 100 breast and the A-final of the 50 free at the 2020 Missouri Valley Conference Champs.

The Trojans have had a strong recruiting year. Pieniazkiewicz will join Gillian Boggs, Lucy Jahn, Olivia Henderson, Devin Trammell, Lara Alsader, Caitlin Romprey, and Jaelle Carlson as a member of the class of 2025.

Lauren is going to do nothing but get faster. Her versatility is going to be a HUGE asset. Lauren can be put into any event or throw here into any relay and she will make things happen.
