2017 U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2017 U.S. Open Swimming Championships are now in the books, as competition concluded on Sunday in East Meadow, New York. We’ve put together the race videos from each day of the meet, which were uploaded to USA Swimming’s YouTube channel. On day 4, swimmers competed in the 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and 4×100 medley relay. The action continued on day 5 with the 200 IM, 50 free, women’s 1500 free, and men’s 800 free.

One of the highlight swims on the 4th night of competition came in the 200 free, where Texas’ Jeff Newkirk smashed his best time to win it while Cal’s Long Gutierrez set a new Mexican Record to take the silver. On day 5, World Record holder Ryan Lochte swam to victory in the 200 IM, taking down a Championship Record formerly held by the legendary Michael Phelps. You can find a full recap for day 4 here and the recap for day 5 here.

**NOTE: USA Swimming has not yet uploaded some of the race videos. Among the missing videos are the women’s 100 back, 100 breast, and 200 free, as well as the men’s 200 free. SwimSwam will update this post if the videos become available.**
