Future Virginia Tech swimmer Ryan Vipavetz (RMSC) continued to impress on the 2nd day of the Maryland LCM state meet. Vipavetz won another two events. In the 200 fly, he swam a 2:02.93, narrowly holding off teammate Alex Colson. Colson split 31.62 on the final 50, compared to 32.35 from Vipavetz, finishing in 2:03.09. Colson went on to win the 50 fly in 25.92, where Vipavetz came in 3rd (26.53). Vipavetz also won the 100 free, clocking a 53.75.
RMSC’s Catherine Belyakov won a trio of girls open events. Belyakov won the 200 breast in 2:40.16, taking the race out in a quick 1:16.23. She then won the 50 breast, posting a 34.42. In the 200 IM, Belyakov swam a 2:22.18, splitting 1:09.19/1:11.99 by 100. 13-Year-Old Sarah Eliason (RMSC) also won 3 13-14 girls events on the day. Eliason first won the girls 13-14 100 free, speeding to a 1:00.55. She then took the 50 back, swimming a 32.29. Eliason swam a quick 29.91 to win the 50 fly.
Adriano Arioti (RMSC) won a trio of 11-12 boys events on day 2. Arioti posted a 2:21.22 in the 200 fly, winning the event by a whopping 21 seconds. He swam a consistent race, splitting 33.20/36.17/36.68/35.17. Arioti went on to win the 100 breast, clocking a 1:15.5o. In the 100 fly, Arioti also got his hands on the wall first, touching in 1:06.10. 12-Year-Old teammate Tyler Coapstick won a pair of events. Coapstick took the boys 11-12 200 IM with a 2:26.89. He then went on to win the 50 free, swimming a 28.30.
