16-year old Claire Curzan has swum a time faster than her own National Age Group Record in the 50 yard free, but it’s not clear if the swim will count.

There’s no clear #1 in the current crop of sophomores. The class centers on IMs and distance free, with some strong international ties and LCM swims.
The team of Michael Cotter, Lance Norris, David Greeley and Braeden Haughey combined for a 6:36.61 to break the record of 6:38.07 set by DART in 2018.
Leading off the 800 free relay for the Tac Titans was junior standout Claire Curzan. She broke 1:46 for the first time in 1:45.47.
According to the SWIMS database, it’s the 4th fastest time by a 13-year-old all-time.
Madison Murtagh, a rising Penn State sophomore, kicked off the meet by winning the women’s 800 free.
Ross Dant, who has committed to swim for NC State next fall, broke a North Carolina state record in the 500 free at the NCHSAA 1A/2A State Championships.
Charlotte Hook (pictured above) and Tona Zinn stood out among their peers in 2018.

The North Carolina Swimming Age Group Championships were held this past weekend, seeing a total of 13 state records come down. TAC Titans won the combined meet, boys meet, and girls meet, and additionally was responsible for 7 of the 13 broken records.
