Summer Nationals Qualifier Jack Haley (2025) Flips Commitment from Northwestern to Princeton

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jack Haley from New Canaan, Connecticut, who had originally made a verbal pledge to Northwestern, has flipped his commitment to Princeton University for 2025-26. He wrote on social media:

“I am honored to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University! Thank you to my coaches, Jamie and Aaron, as well as my friends, family, and teammates for their unwavering support. I am truly grateful to Coach Matt and the rest of the coaching staff for this incredible opportunity. Go Tigers!🐅”

A senior at New Canaan High School, Haley trains year-round with Chelsea Piers Aquatic Club. His older sister Maddie Haley swam at Georgetown.

Haley wrapped up his prep career earlier this month by winning the 200 free and 500 free at both the Connecticut Boys Class L Championships (1:37.86/4:27.39) and at the CIAC Boys State Open Championships (1:37.06/4:25.64) a week later. He also won the 200/500 at the state meet in 2024 (1:38.90/4:31.42) and placed 2nd and 4th in the respective events in 2024 5 (1:42.41/4:40.12).

In club swimming, Haley clocked a massive number of PBs at the NCAP Invite in December, finishing in the top 3 of the 200 free, 500 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. Last summer, he concluded long course season at NCSA Summer Swimming Championships, earning lifetime bests in the 100 free (53.11), 200 free (1:54.08), 400 free (4:05.12), 100 fly (56.86), 200 fly (2:05.08), 200 IM (2:08.44), and 400 IM (4:37.10).

Haley’s best SCY times would have scored in the “B” finals of the 200 fly and 400 IM, and he would have been on the “B” final bubble in the 200 free, at the 2025 Ivy League Men’s Championships. He will join the Tigers next fall with swimmers John Rusnock, Keian Lam, Oliver Rowe, Alex Townsend, Jake Tarara, and Jiarui Xue and divers Luka Martinovic and Chase Sorosky.

Top SCY times:

  • 200 fly – 1:45.89
  • 400 IM – 3:51.00
  • 200 IM – 1:48.65
  • 500 free – 4:24.97
  • 200 free – 1:36.89
  • 200 back – 1:47.74
