Phoenix, Arizona’s Shae Nicolaisen has verbally committed to Duke University, where she will join Brynne O’Shea, Easop Lee, Melissa Pish, Rachel Peroni, Shayna Hollander, and Zoe Lusk in the class of 2022.

Nicolaisen attends Desert Vista High School in Phoenix. A two-time NISCA All-American and a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All- American, she is the Arizona High School Division 1 State Champion in the 200 freestyle and a member of the winning 200 free relay squad. At the 2016 AIA Division I Championships last November, she won the 200 free in 1:49.96, was runner-up in the 100 fly (56.22), anchored the winning 200 free relay (24.15) and led off the third-place 400 free relay (52.09).
Nicolaisen trains at Scottsdale Aquatic Club under the direction of Kevin Zacher and Bob Platt. She is an Olympic Trials qualifier in the 800 freestyle, and Junior Nationals finalist. Nicolaisen qualified and swam at the World Championships Trials this June in the 200, 400, 800, and 1500 freestyles. She also excels in the 100/200 fly and 200/400 IM.
