ATLANTA – (MAY 10, 2021) – Mizuno, a global leader in sporting goods and apparel, announces the official sponsorship of its first Mizuno Atlanta Classic swim meet hosted by Swim Atlanta. The event will take place May 14–16th at the world-class swim venue, the McAuley Aquatic Center, located in Atlanta, Ga. on Georgia Tech’s campus. The Mizuno Atlanta Classic is a FINA approved competition with Olympic events held throughout the weekend, allowing athletes the opportunity to secure their U.S. Olympic Trial cuts before June. All athletes with Winter Jr. National qualifying times are eligible to compete.
“After an uncertain year for all sports, we found it extremely important to support local sporting events in order to bring competition back to young and professional athletes, so we’re incredibly excited to introduce the Mizuno Atlanta Classic swim meet,” said Grace Anne Sanderson, Product and Marketing Manager for Mizuno USA. “Swim Atlanta and Georgia Tech have worked tirelessly to host meets for these athletes, and we are honored and excited to sponsor the event.”
More than 20 professional and elite swimmers from all over the world will be in attendance. After a trying year for the sport of swimming, more than 500 swimmers and 50 teams from across the country will travel to the Mizuno Atlanta Classic for the opportunity to compete. Both Swim Atlanta and SwimSwam will be covering the event and will also be providing live updates as sessions happen throughout the weekend.
