Lilly King Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week

Indiana’s Lilly King was named Big Ten swimmer of the week after winning gold in the 200 breast at Winter Nationals. She also picked up a silver in the 100 breast. Diver of the week went to Minnesota’s Lexi Tenenbaum, who won the platform title at the Jean K. Freeman invite.

  • Recorded gold- and silver-medal finishes in the 200- and 100-meter breaststroke events, respectively, at the AT&T Winter Nationals
  • Time of 1:06.43 in the 100-meter breaststroke converts to an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, per NCAA conversion standards, while mark of 2:24.47 in the 200-meter breaststroke converts to an NCAA provisional qualifying time
  • Broke the Indiana and U.S. National 17-18 Age Group record in the 200-meter breaststroke
  • Earns her first career Big Ten Swimmer of the Week award

Diver of the Week

Lexi Tenenbaum, Minnesota

Jr. – Maple Grove, Minn. – Maple Grove

  • Claimed the platform title with 318.20 points and collected second-place honors in the three-meter event with 343.90 points at the Jean K. Freeman Invitational at Minnesota
  • Recorded NCAA Zone qualifying scores in both events
  • Earns her second career Diver of the Week honor
  • Last Minnesota Diver of the Week: Yu Zhou (Nov. 25 2015)

Siobhain Haughey, Michigan

Fr. – Hong Kong – St. Paul’s Secondary School

  • Finished in the top-10 in the 100-meter freestyle (55.00), 200-meter freestyle (1:58.48) and 200-meter individual medley (2:13.20), and collected 12th in the 50-meter freestyle (25.70) at the AT&T Winter Nationals
  • Times in all four events convert to NCAA provisional qualifying times
  • Earns her second career Freshman of the Week honor

Jess Unicomb, Wisconsin

Fr. – Gold Coast, Australia – All Saints Anglican School

  • Finished in the top-10 in the 50-yard freestyle (22.47), 100-yard backstroke (53.79), 200-yard backstroke (1:59.04), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:30.12), 400-yard freestyle relay (3:18.27), 200-yard medley relay (1:38.82) and 400-yard medley relay (3:35.85) at the Texas Invitational
  • Times in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke are NCAA provisional qualifying
  • Earns her second career Freshman of the Week honor
