Position Summary:
Reporting to the President and Executive Director, the Program Director and Head Water Polo Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the RBAC’s year-round water polo program, including providing and coordinating high quality coaching of athletes ranging ability from beginner to elite levels. The Head Coach will work closely with the RBAC’s Executive staff members to coordinate team needs and strategically plan to maximize opportunities for the program and organization.  This position may provide direct supervision to salaried staff and hourly employees, and will oversee the management of the team budget.

All staff at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center lead through a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, both within the RBAC and with the communities that we serve.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or coordinate with assistant coaches season plans and training programs for all age-group teams;
  • Monitor budget to ensure team is fiscally responsible and revenue and expenditures are within allocated budget;
  • Plan and coordinate practice sessions, competitions and tournaments; including bids, and facility requests for appropriate space and times;    
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback to athletes and parents, as appropriate, regarding performance, achieving individual goals, and practice, meet and schedule changes;
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies for athletes on the team;
  • Recruit, hire, assign team/group responsibilities and evaluate coaching and support staff; 
  • Coordinate with RBAC staff all marketing needs and activities, including maintaining an up to date team website;  
  • Lead team in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies in which teams and athletes participate and compete; 
  • Establish goals to guide overall direction of the team and develop a culture that promotes character development as well as success in the pool; 
  • Maintain, inventory, and ensure proper storage of all equipment, and make recommendations for team needs;
  • Participate in fundraising activities for the team and RBAC; and 
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with athletes, boosters, parents, and other RBAC staff members.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned; and 
  • Pursue ongoing personal professional development and awareness opportunities in each of the above responsibility areas to ensure the RBAC is a top performing Aquatics environment.  


Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible coaching experience in an age-group water polo coaching program, organization, or club.

Knowledge, Abilities and/or Skills:

  • Member in good standing with USA Water Polo Coach Membership;
  • Familiar with USA Water Polo Junior Olympic requirements, qualifying standards, and procedures;
  • Advanced knowledge of Safe Sport policies and procedures;

Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed outdoors involving potentially inclement weather conditions. Position requires regular contact with the public, athletes and parents.  Must be able to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and adhere to deadlines. Some work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

We have a competitive group, from former Olympians and D1 Collegiate swimmers to triathletes and dedicated fitness swimmers. Our “slow” lanes do 100y repeats on a 2:00 send-off. The Cincinnati Marlins are seeking a full time Senior/Age Group Swim Coach. The Cincinnati Marlins are a not for profit year round swim club based in two locations in the greater Cincinnati area. Our central location is at the newly renovated Keating Natatorium at St. Xavier High School in Finneytown. Our South site is at Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, Kentucky. The Marlins provide programming for nearly 400 members across our lessons, pre-competitive, competitive, water polo, and master’s groups.

A successful candidate will bring an abundance of positive energy and focus to the senior swimmers in the club and will also have responsibilities in the age group program. The Senior Coach will report directly to the Head Coach/CEO. They will work collaboratively with the Associate Head Coach and the South site lead to assist, identify, and guide athletes towards the Senior level within the Marlins. Working with athletes to set and achieve their goals from Age Group State to Trials and into collegiate swimming is an absolute must. This position will consist of on deck coaching, administrative duties, mentoring of assistant coaches, and assisting the Head Coach/CEO with assigned tasks.

We are seeking a team member with a TEAM first mentality who is driven to learn, share, grow, and work hard. Candidates must be energetic, motivated, and be able to encourage all of the athletes in our club with positive energy. Competency in teaching and developing stroke technique is a must. Understanding and previous experience with the USA Swimming American Development Model is preferred.

Senior Coach Responsibilities

  • Available to coach in the mornings, evenings, and weekends throughout the year.

HEAD AGE GROUP COACH (FULL-TIME)

Swim Streamline at Northampton (SSAN) is looking for the right candidate who has experience, energy and expertise in swimming but most importantly helping athletes be better student athletes and young adults. We have 15 years of excellence in our age group and senior programs and are looking for a passionate hard-working individual to follow our mission.

As the Head Age Group Coach, you will be responsible for the oversight and effective leadership of our 14 and under age group program. You will work closely with the Head Coach, Associate Head & Lead Developmental to create a positive and competitive training environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to seasonal planning, coordinating effective and efficient execution of daily age group swimming operations, overseeing swimmer and coach development, providing oversight to the age group coaching staff, and fostering communication with all families and staff members. As a full-time position, off-deck responsibilities will include administrative and operational tasks vital to team growth and culture.
The candidate will need to coach, lead and motivate athletes in practice groups and at meets, promoting improvement and growth.

Typical Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
•       Lead coach of at least two (2) practice groups. This includes planning and implementation of daily workouts for age group swimmers, attending meets as well as team and group social events. Periodic coverage of other practice groups
•       Run age group practices, teaching competitive swimming to athletes of a wide range of age and ability, as well as delegating to and supervising assistant coaches to ensure that athletes are learning and improving.
•       Develops seasonal plans, writes practice sets
•     Provides individualized and small group instruction to instill the Team/Head Coach Coaching philosophy.
•    Develops plans to meet the needs of each athlete.
•       Maintains and improves professional skills by participating in staff meetings, educational instructions, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current for best coaching methods.
•.    Publish monthly newsletter of upcoming events, team activities etc
•       Assists with team tryouts, individual evaluations and other team-related programs, as requested.
•       Conducts goal meetings (group & individual) with your athletes.
•       Conducts age group parent meeting at the start of the season.
•       Performs additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Coaching and Training:
•       Grows and develops the base of our age group program so our swimmers develop into successful athletes.
•       Develops and implements age-appropriate seasonal training programs for age group swimmers, focusing on stroke technique, endurance, and competitive skills
•       Oversight of a comprehensive age-group dryland program in coordination with the Associate Head Coach.
•       Assists with the development and support of the Learn to Swim program.
•       Completes meet entries in an accurate and timely fashion, ensuring that event selection is appropriate. Attends meets and provides on-deck coaching.
•       Identifies athlete needs and makes appropriate training adjustments, develops strategies for individual training plans. Make determinations and decisions regarding competitions, events, and relays.
•       Establishes and maintains standards of discipline to achieve an efficient training environment.

Communication/Team Building:
•       Maintains open communication with swimmers, parents, and coaches utilizing email, newsletter, social media, and parent/coach meetings to ensure consistent communication.
•       Works in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues to provide a positive team culture and vision for the overall development of training groups and team performance.

Qualifications / Requirements:
3-5 years of coaching and/or competitive swimming experience at the club or collegiate level.
Member in good standing of USA Swimming and current on all certifications.  Ensures full compliance with all USA Swimming policies. Certified Pool Operator a plus, but not required.
