Position Summary:

The Director of Developmental Swimming manages the day-to-day operations and long term strategic direction of the Rose Buds Developmental Swim Team, the feeder program for all competitive aquatics teams at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center (RBAC). Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed outdoors involving potentially inclement weather conditions. Position requires regular contact with the public, swim athletes and parents. Must be able to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and adhere to deadlines.

In coordination with the Head Coach, the Head Age Group Coach will take BWTD to new levels of success. The Head Age Group Coach will work Sundays through Thursdays.


Position Tasks:

  • Designing season plans in coordination with the Head Coach
  • Assisting the Head Coach with team admin
  • Writing practices for Senior, Gold 1, and Gold 2 groups, and leading practices when available
  • Assisting with other practice groups as needed
  • Running the Summer League swim team, including working meets and creating meet lineups
  • Availability to work USA Swim Meets on weekends
  • Working with the Head Coach to recruit new swimmers and schedule tryouts
  • Being the professional staff on duty on Sundays
  • Assisting with Summer Swim Club on Sundays, as well as some weekdays and holidays
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness of pools
  • Lifeguarding some hours during the week
  • Supporting the mission of the JCC, and assist in JCC events throughout the year


Desired Qualifications:

  • Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming
  • ASCA Level 2 or similar coaching experience

Salary is commensurate with experience, and will range from $40,000-$45,000. The Peddie School is seeking a dynamic, inspiring Junior Program Director to help support our nationally-renowned swim team and continue its success. The Peddie Aquatic Association has a legacy of success by consistently placing among the top teams at Sectionals, Junior Nationals, the U.S. Open, and US Nationals. In 2021 PAA was recognized by ASCA as a Top-100 Age Group Team. Peddie has produced a number of athletes that have represented the United States at various international competitions, including the Olympics. Peddie Aquatics is a multi-tiered program consisting of a swim school all the way to pre-competitive and competitive teams. The Peddie Aquatic Association calls The Peddie School Natatorium home, located in Hightstown, NJ just 10 miles from Princeton, and 30 miles from the New Jersey coast. 



  • Daily coaching responsibilities will include the direction of the Junior Performance practice group, which features our top-level age group athletes. The group is made up of competitive swimmers ages 11 to 14.
  • Will assist with evaluating swimmers’ techniques, developing swim programs, and overseeing daily training, while recruiting new team members & preparing for swim meets.
