The pool swimming portion of the 2017 World Championships begins on July 23rd, just over two weeks away, and will run until July 30th. Philip Heintz is the biggest name on the roster, and after crushing a 1:55 in the 200 IM last month, he’s throwing his name in the mix of swimmers shooting for gold in an event that has been dominated by Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte for years. Franziska Hentke will also be a medal contender in the 200 fly as the world leader in that event this year.
