Ashlyn Fiorilli of Texas Ford Aquatics and Spring Creek Academy has verbally committed to the Cal Berkeley class of 2023. She joins an incoming class consisting of Rachel Klinker, Chloe Clark, and Isabel Ivey
Fiorilli was a C finalist in the 200 LCM butterfly at the 2017 US Summer Nationals, where she placed 18th. She also suited up for Team USA at the 2017 World Junior Championships, where she placed 12th in the 200 fly.
TOP TIMES (SCY)
- 100 fly – 54.71
- 200 fly – 1:57.23
- 200 IM – 2:02.88
- 400 IM – 4:15.41
- 500 free – 4:49.92
- 1650 free – 16:23.48
- 200 back – 1:58.08
- 200 fly (LCM) – 2:12.19
Fiorilli’s best events are the 200 fly, 1650 free, and the 400 IM. Her mile is intriguing for Cal — she would’ve been 2nd on their 2017-18 top times list behind Chenoa Devine (16:16.20), but Devine was the only Cal swimmer to race a mile on their entire roster last year, according to the top times list. Meanwhile, she would’ve been 4th on the list last season in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
At the 2018 Pac 12 Championships, with her best times, Fiorilli would’ve placed 12th in the mile and B-finaled in both the 200 fly and 400 IM.

And, alas, a loss for Princeton where she was being recruited also, at my urging (because I swim for Texas Ford Aquatics also, in its masters program. Her time in the Sectionals for the 1000 free would have placed her 3rd in the Ivy championships last year, and she could help out Princeton against Yale where former TFA swimmer Destiny Nelson is a major contributor. But I too wish her well at Cal. And my Facebook friend Kristen Cunnane, former associate head coach who was Cal’s chief recruiter during the years it won four NCAA titles from 2009 to 2015, will be happy.
Congratulations Ashlyn. Graddpa is so proud of you.
Hope you enjoy your college years and achieve all the success you deserve. Love you very much.
Congratulations Ashlyn!
Congrats to Ash! Looking forward to following you in college!
Congrats! Stellar 2019 class in the works for the Bears.
Sarah Dimeco was Cal’s 4th verbal, Ashlyn is the 5th.
Welcome to Cal Ashlyn! Look forward to watching you in dual meets and PAC12 Championships. Go Bears!
