Swimming Australia has announced a 42-swimmer roster for the 2014 Junior Pan Pac Championships that will run from August 28th through September 1st in Hawaii, USA; as well as the 2014 Oceania Championships in Auckland, New Zealand from May 20-23.
On the Junior Pan Pacs squad will be big names like Vincent Dai and Damian Fife on the men’s side. The women’s squad is probably the more powerful of the two, however, and will include swimmers like 13-year old backstroke phenom Minna Atherton and 15-year old sprinter Shayna Jack.
Interestingly, the country’s best-known junior swimmer Kyle Chalmers, who has broken several National Age Records including the 100 free for 15-year olds held by Ian Thorpe, is on the roster for the Oceania Championships but not for Junior Pan Pacs. This could perhaps be an indication that he’s going to swim at the Youth Olympics this summer instead of Junior Pan Pacs.

Can’t see anyone mistaking them though it could have been possible before 1900. This is like the comment I read where ( an American ) described Prince George’s outfits on his recent tour as ‘turn of the century’ . I think they meant the one before the last . Time flies!
The Daria Ustinovas wins but also I like it that Lea/ leah Neal/ Neale have very similar 200 free times in the low 1.58s .
I am hoping to see the little Tennessee boy called (the?) Messiah becomes a sports star . What a sportcasters gift. God knows we need some fun in sport again.
Note that Sophie Taylor (AUS, freestyler) and Sophie Taylor (UK breaststroke)are two different swimmers. Though the nationalities maek them slightly easier to keep apart than Russia’s dual Daria Ustinovas.
