2022 FINA SHORT COURSE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

This post contains the results from day two of the 2022 Short Course World Championships in Melbourne, Australia. Here are the event winners from day 2:

  • Mixed 4×50 medley relay: United States – 1:35.15
  • Women’s 800 free: Lani Pallister – 8:04.07
  • Women’s 100 back: Kaylee McKeown (Australia) – 55.49
  • Men’s 100 back: Ryan Murphy (United States) – 48.50
  • Women’s 50 fly: Torri Huske (United States)/Maggie MacNeil (Canada) – 24.64
  • Men’s 50 fly: Nicholas Santos (Brazil) – 21.78
  • Women’s 4×200 free relay: Australia – 7:30.87

It was an interesting day, as there were two ties in scoring places for the Pick’ems  contest, which always makes things interesting. Torri Huske and Maggie MacNeil tied for gold in the women’s 50 fly, while Claire Curzan and Ingrid Wilm tied for bronze in the women’s 100 back.

Additionally, there were scoring finishes that no one in the contest got correct. For example, nobody entered in the contest selected Canada to finish in the top four in the mixed medley relay. In the men’s 100 back, Isaac Cooper won bronze, and no one had selected him to be in the top four.

The winner of day 2 is screen name “Willswim,” congratulations! Willswim scored 77 points on the day, leading the contest by two points.

Here are the day 2 scores:

Through the first two days of the meet, “Willswim is tied with “Miro” for first place in total scoring. Here is the scoring update for total scores through the second day.
