14 Year Old Vivienne Zangaro Posts 2:02.06 200 Free On Night 2 Of NCSAs

2024 NCSA SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS

Highlighting the girls side of night 2 in Indianapolis was the girls 200 free. Wisconsin commit for next fall Andrea Dworak swam to a 2:01.17 in the 200 freestyle, only 0.02 off her best time that she swam in May. 14 year old Vivienne Zangaro swam to huge lifetime best as she touched 2nd in a 2:02.06, over a second faster than her preivou best time of a 2:03.41 that she swam in April. Her time sits at #27 in the 13-14 age group all-time, notably sitting just behind Regan Smith. Zangaro now has dropped over five and a half seconds in the event this season as she had a best time of a 2:07.87 last summer.

Chloe Diner swam to a win in a 1:09.94 in the 100 breast. Diner earned the win as she just out touched teammate Elizabeth Nawrowcki who swam a 1:09.99. Diner has committed to stay in state and swim collegiately at Illinois and came in with a lifetime best of a 1:10.67.

Taylor Bacher was the final individual event winner on the girls side as she swam to a 2:14.04 in her 200 fly win. Bacher is committed to Auburn next fall and had a previous best time of a 2:15.86 from May. She has also made huge strides in the last year as her personal best last season was a 2:18.07.

The boys were highlighted by Jake Wang who swam to a lifetime best in the 100 breast touching in a 1:01.73, faster than his old best time of a 1:01.90 that he swam at Spring NCSAs. Wang was 49th at US Trials in a 1:02.19. Finishing 2nd was Eli Martin who posted a huge best time with a 1:02.22. His best time coming into the meet was a 1:04.34.

Georgia commit Sean Green won the 400 IM by over two and a half seconds as he touched in a 4:19.91. That was about two seconds off his lifetime best of a 4:17.84 that he swam last month at US Trials for 11th place.

Martin Perecinsky earned the win in the 100 fly in a 56.07, just off his best time of a 55.24. 15 year old Brayden Capen swam to a best time of a 56.66 in the morning and was 2nd in a 56.73 in finals, still under his old lifetime best of a 56.96.
