Summer McIntosh continues to shock the world. Last night, she ripped a 4:27.52 to win the girls 500 free by a huge margin, shattering her own meet record from prelims and blowing away Katie Ledecky‘s pool record by 2.02 seconds. Speaking of Ledecky, McIntosh is now faster in the 500 free than she was at age 16.

Aaron Shackell won a very tight race with Tristan DenBrok and Henry McFadden, all three of whom had phenomenal lifetime best swims in this final.

Alex Shackell took even more time off her personal best from this morning, speeding to a 1:54.54 and a decisive victory. Carmel Swim Club teammate Molly Sweeney came in second, swimming a 1:56.53.

In an incredible race, 15-year-old Thomas Heilman roared to a new 15-16 boys NAG record of 1:41.71. He also broke the Winter Juniors meet record and, at just 15 years of age, he’s now only 0.32 seconds off the 17-18 NAG in the event.

Both Alex Shackell and Erika Pelaez improved on their lifetime bests from this morning. For Shackell, she became the #2 performer all-time in the 15-16 age group, while Pelaez broke 22 seconds for the first time.
