Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Day 4 Prelims Heat Sheets Show 0 Scratches

2020 TOKYO SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

We are heading into the 4th prelims session of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after 3 full days of competition.

Day 4 will see the first-ever men’s 800 freestyle on an Olympic stage alongside the men’s 100 freestyle, women’s 200 butterfly, men’s 200 breaststroke, and men’s 4×200 freestyle relay.

While there were no scratches in any event, Oussama Sahnoune of Algeria is now entered in the men’s 100 free after being absent from the original entry list. His addition gives the event a total of 71 entries.

I forgot Regan Smith was in the 200 fly. 100 back and 200 fly is such a random combo. Is anyone else swimming two non-freestyle strokes without an IM?

Yeah but he would have swam the 4IM if he was any other nationality. Or if Phelps hadn’t decided to do it for the first time in 4 years.

Clary was gutted at trials but he turned it into gold in that 200 Back. Clary must be the best IM swimmer never to swim it at the Olympics.

Just have to ensure you aren’t last in your heat and you are through. Expect to see some very slow times. It’s going to be rough for whoever is 17th.
