Men’s Swimmer of the Week: Jordan Crooks, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Jordan Crooks, a junior from George Town, Cayman Islands, earned two individual wins and was a part of two winning relays in the victory over LSU. Crooks recorded an NCAA A-cut time of 18.80 to win the 50 free and an NCAA B-cut time of 45.18 to win the 100 fly. He swam the leadoff split in the 400 free relay (2:51.54/41.87) and the third leg of the 200 medley relay (1:24.34/19.92) to help the Vols to first place in both events.
Men’s Diver of the Week: Bryden Hattie, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Bryden Hattie, a senior from Victoria, British Columbia Canada, swept the springboard events in the win over LSU. Hattie opened the day with a final score of 400.35 to win the 3-meter. He closed out the meet with a final score of 366.15 to win the 1-meter. Hattie has now tallied 11 wins in seven meets this season.
Men’s Freshman of the Week: Jere Hribar, LSU
LSU’s Jere Hribar, a freshman from Split, Croatia, was a part of four podiums finishes at No. 11 Tennessee. Hribar registered a personal best time to take second place in the 50 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 19.39. He was also runner-up in the 100 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 43.11. Hribar swam the second leg of the second-place 400 free relay (2:55.92/42.45) and the final leg of the second-place 200 medley relay (1:26.38/18.90).
Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Mona McSharry, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Mona McSharry, a senior from Sligo, Ireland, had two individual wins and was a part of a winning relay in the victory over No. 25 LSU. McSharry touched the wall first in the 50 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 22.12 and in the 200 breaststroke with an NCAA B-cut time of 2:06.63. In the 200 medley relay, McSharry swam the 50 breaststroke leg in 25.87 to help pace UT to a top time of 1:35.84.
Women’s Diver of the Week: Ana Monroy, Florida
Florida’s Ana Monroy, a freshman from Laz Paz, Mexico, was victorious in all three diving events in the win over Florida State. Monroy set collegiate highs of 345.00 on the 3-meter and 323.33 on platform. She also posted the top score on the 1-meter with a 302.45.
Women’s Freshman of the Week: Camille Spink, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Camille Spink, a freshman from Haymarket, Va., garnered four podium finishes in the win over No. 25 LSU. Spink won the 100 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 48.03 and finished second in the 200 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:44.63. She was a member of the fastest 200 medley relay that touched the wall in 1:35.84, thanks to her 21.64 anchor leg. Spink also swam the second leg in the 400 free relay in 47.49, pacing the Lady Vols to a 3:13.90 first-place finish.
