South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women’s swimming and diving picked up a victory in its second home meet of the season, taking down Lehigh in a dual meet, 136-105.
Kicking off the meet was Silvia Alessio (Trieste, Italy) once again sweeping both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Alessio took the win in the 1-meter with a score of 303.52, while her score of 283.72 in the 3-meter also led her to victory. This marks the fourth consecutive meet to open the season in which Alessio has swept the diving events.
In the pool, Amanda Zajdzinski (Mesa, Ariz.) posted a stellar day. Her first of three victories came in the 1000 Free, which she won in a time of 10:25.90 to beat out teammate Madeleine Bachand (Raleigh, N.C.) by just over six seconds. Zajdzinski later added another distance win, this time in the 500 Free with a time of 5:02.14. She capped off the meet by leading off the 200 Free Relay, which she won alongside Madeline Field (Wheaton, Ill.), Leiya Istambouli (Danbury, Conn.) and Natalie Heim (Middletown, N.J.) with a time of 1:36.94.
Much like Zajdzinski, Heim too had an outstanding day by winning three events. In addition to the 200 Free Relay win, Heim touched the wall first in the 200 Free with a time of 1:52.21. She would later take home the top spot in the 100 Free, doing so with a time of 52.01 which was just ahead of teammate Lea Moeller (New Lenox, Ill.).
Moeller would capture a victory of her own on the day, claiming the victory in the 50 Free with a time of 24.14. Also picking up a win on the afternoon was Julie Stampe (Allerod-Birkerod, Denmark), who captured the win in the 100 Back in 58.50.
The Pirates will gear up for their final meet of the fall semester at the WVU Invite in Mortgantown W. Va. from Nov. 16-18.
South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving team made it a perfect weekend on Saturday, defeating Lehigh by a score of 156-81 to win its second meet of the weekend.
Toma Adam (Bacau, Romania) posted his strongest day of the season thus far, picking up three overall victories. His first came in the 200 Medley Relay to kick off the meet, combining with Chris Jackson (Maywood, N.J.), Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.) and Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) for a time of 1:32.58. Adam’s other wins would come in the short-distance freestyle events. He took home the 50 Free win in a time of 21.07, and later claimed the 100 Free in 46.54.
Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) also notched multiple wins on the afternoon, sweeping the distance events. The sophomore took home the 1000 Free in 9:29.09 before winning the 500 Free in a time of 4:35.95. Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.) took second and third in the 500 Free, respectively, as the Pirates swept the top-three spots in the race.
Despite coming up short in the 500 Free, both Vizzard and Cary would notch wins of their own. Vizzard took the top spot in the 400 IM with a time of 4:08.04. Cary’s win came in the 200 Free, capturing the win in a time of 1:40.95.
The 500 Free was also the first of two races which saw the Pirates sweep the top three positions. The 100 Breast saw Endersby claim first in a time of 56.92, followed by Justen Lopez (Levittown, N.Y.) in second and Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.) in third.
In diving, Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) and Trevor Post (Bay City,Mich.) split the two events after putting up excellent scores in their respective wins. Murtha nabbed the win in the 1-meter with a score of 330.15, while Post tallied a score of 356.70 in the 3-meter.

WEST ORANGE, N.J. – Looking to capture its third straight win, the Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team came up short, falling 136-105 to Seton Hall Saturday afternoon.
Lehigh is 2-2 on the season, and the Pirates are 3-1.
Sarah Hardy continued her winning ways. Hardy won the 400-yard IM (4:27.76), the 100-yard butterfly (56.10) and helped lead the 200-yard medley relay to a first-place finish (1:47.01).
Anushree Ghate, Danielle Prekop and Noel Fresa were also on the winning 200-yard medley relay team.
Behind Hardy in the 100-yard butterfly was Jordan MacDonald and Natalie Martin. MacDonald came in second (58.80), and Martin took home a third-place finish (1:00.14).
Prekop was the only other Mountain Hawks to capture a win on Saturday. Prekop tallied a first-place mark in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.67.
While Hardy and Hardy had the lone wins for Lehigh, there were still some strong performances.
Caitlin Deitch swam to a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.13). Ludwig was right behind her, tallying a third place mark with a time of 1:55.74.
Lehigh captured second in the one-meter and three-meter dive. Sarah Gill scored 238.05 points in the one-meter dive to finish in second, and Kate Whitaker scored 227.80 points in the three-meter dive to take second place.
Lehigh will have another break before taking on Lafayette on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at Jacobs Pool.
WEST ORANGE, N.J. – The Lehigh men’s swimming and diving team was bested 156-81 at Seton Hall Saturday afternoon.
The Mountain Hawks fell to 0-4 on the season, while the Pirates moved to 4-0 on the season.
Elvin Lee and Ben Kisker captured the lone individual wins for Lehigh on Saturday. Lee won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.14. Aaron Williams was right behind Lee, tallying a second-place finish (51.70).
Kisker won the 100-yard backstroke after finishing with a time of 51.71.
The group of Jack Devilbiss, Alex Patti, Tim Norris and Aaron Williams won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:24.13.
Keagan Casey recorded a second place mark in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:03.27).
Lehigh had a two-three punch in the 400-yard IM as Alfredo Figueroa came in second (4:18.29), and Sean Davis came in third (4:18.29).
Tim Norris also had a second place finish, recording a time of 47.76 in the 100-yard freestyle (47.76).
Jack Grotke tallied two points in the one-meter dive after scoring 139.42 points to take a fourth place finish.
The Mountain Hawks will look to capture their first win of the season against Lafayette on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at Jacobs Pool.
