The Minnesota Gophers have released their schedule for the upcoming NCAA season, with eight meets to be held at home at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
2016-17 Minnesota S&D Schedule
Kicking off their season will be the annual alumni meet on Friday, September 30th. At this meet, inductees to the Minnesota Aquatics Hall of Fame will be recognized.
The first regular season meet will take place on Saturday, October 8th as the Gophers will travel to Tallahassee to do battle with Florida State and Duke. The Gophers’ first home dual meet will be a match-up with Big Ten rival Wisconsin on Thursday, October 13th.
The next few meets will be held at home, concluding with the Minnesota Invitational, which will run November 10th to the 12th. The Gophers, after Winter Nationals (November 30th to December 3rd), will have their training trip in Hawai’i (along with a dual meet with the University of Hawai’i). The final home meet of the season will be the Minnesota Challenge, which will run February 3rd and 4th, before the Gophers prepare for championship season.
The 2017 Big Ten Champs are to be held February 15-18 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, for the women. The men will have their conference championships at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, from February 22nd to the 25th. Both men’s and women’s NCAA are to be contested at IUPUI’s natatorium in Indianapolis, with the women’s running March 15-18 and the men’s March 22-25.
