Avery Herring from Greenwood, Indiana has committed to swim at NAIA’s Lindsey Wilson College beginning in the 2021-22 school year.

A distance specialist, Herring swims for Whiteland Community High School and Greenwood Gators. In her junior year of high school, she placed 6th in the 200 free (2:00.69) and 4th in the 500 free (5:20.93) at the IHSAA Sectional Championships. She also led off both freestyle relays, earning PBs in the 50/100 free (26.01/55.77). This year she competed at the Indiana High School State Meet and lowered her PB leading off the 200 free relay in 25.14.
Herring recently swam at the Indiana LSC Senior Championships in the 200/500/1000 free. She came in 32nd in the 1000 free and picked up a new lifetime best of 11:00.11. She also swims breaststroke and IM and earned PBs in those events last spring at the PIKE Last Chance Invite.
